Ok first off sorry to post in your forumns but id like the hunter point of view on a matter. Since i started jedi ive been on the terms, (no kashykk grinding btw). When i was starting out, yes i ran as fast as my little jedi legs would take me, however once i became strong enough that i felt id have a chance to survive a fight ive changed my ways. When a hunter comes for me, (unless its a group cus im still not comfotable with that yet lol) i engage them in combat. I understand what a pain it is to hunt through the terms just to find a jedi not on kashykk never mind tracking em down, so i feel good in honoring the fight. With that said im seeing a new issue i have, recently a hunter that came for me used the definately dirty borderline griefing perma knockdown. Well with that done i was lucky as he missed once, and i was able to get the heck outta dodge. A low lvl paddi woulda been dogmeat by the way. Heres my point, tactics like these are completely ridiculous, and zero fun.Furthermore. this guy comes back for me now when im on he shows up at mycity spamming crap at me,(usually end up hopping on one of my alts at thispoint to do some base busting) It is the bh equivalent to the i win button in most cases(as theirs no defense against it except hoping he, and its making me wonder if i should continue to engage hunters, or just cloak and leave whenever i see a dot on rader as i have no idea whether to expect this all the time. I was starting to really enjoy the bh encounters, and i will say their are a few of you that at least have some common decency. (role playing ones are the best :smileyvery-happyI realize their are jedi that exploit as well (erhem erhem LOS)among other things, im just trying to get a general feel on whether or not this is tactics the hunter community supports. (as if it is look forward to seeing me cloaked alot more often instead of fighting.)
although your attitude is laudable when it comes to Jedi vs BH there is no room for making it fun for the other guy. A lot of jedi I run into are polite, but some are complete jerks. A BH coming off their last mark that was a jerk is not going to show much mercy. Its great that you want to be nice and all to the BH, but honestly we are out to kill you, not be your friend, not hang out afterwards and chat, it is money, and a mission. I'm not saying I dont chat with jedi after a fight, just that you are going to meet all kinds in this game and the Jedi/BH conflict brings out the worst.
As far as his tactics, well I dont really know the perma KD thing, but it does sound kind of cheap, but then again this isn't gym class, people dont always play fair.
Great! Then Jedi will never stay and fight. They'll just run to their houses or guild-halls and log out, effectively making hunting Jedi a thing of the past. As I've said before, exploits are for cowardly PLAYERS who are afraid to lose (Jedi and BH's). Since the exploit is not an intended game mechanic, it is cheating no matter how you wanna rationalize it. That what there's no room for. It will continue as long as we, the BH's, give the cheating cowards credit for illegitimate kills. If you hear of one, you should tell him/her that only legitimate kills using actual game mechanics earn bragging rights. You find this Jedi's attitude laughable. I respect his attitude. He actually seems to have the right idea of the game.

Redondo, please dont think all BH's are like this guy who attempted the exploit then spammed you after. Some of us PLAYERS have some class and honor.
LOL, actually that wasnt a typo, I said his attitude is LAUDABLE, which is a compliment, you can look it up. I am a MBH and I dont agree with exploits. As I stated I thought it sounded cheap what the BH did, I was simply adding a caveat that if it is in the game someone is going to use it whether it is cheap, an exploit, or any other skill. Every combat profs has had their day of cheap and exploitive tactics and it is the player that chooses to do it. I dont see any reason for a jedi to stay and fight, and if they do I usually start to worry about whether I am prepared enough. I like the hunt and the kill, but the jedi/BH relationship is so tenuous that you never know the attitude of the player on the other side at that moment. Like I said if I hunted a jedi,no matter who wins, if they start talking trash I am sure to carry that feeling over to my next mark. Same with jedi if they lose to a nasty BH they are sure to carry over those feelings to the next encounter. I was just pointing out that its good to be nice, but dont expect jedi/BH encounters to all be honorable, shake hands afterwards encounters.
I am honestly not sure if this is a bug at all. I have been using startle shot since th CU, the point of startle shot is to mez, The reason I use it mainly is to keep jedi from healing, so I can do a quick incap if possible. But I have had jedi complain to me about the KD thing, though I never purposely use startle shot and KD together to produce this effect. I think it's working as intended if you ask me, it is a VERY short lived state, and wears off quickly allowing jedi to do whatever they need, but if it is a bug I agree it needs to be fixed.

I didnt know you could execute the KD bug on command? I have had NPC's use it on me and I was unable to use a recover for it as well. I thought it was something that just happened occassionally.
There is a series of attacks that can be used to cause a "You cannot use "Knockdown Recovery" while knocked down" message every time you try KD recovery when KDed. This is working 100% of the time and a bug, using this series of attacks against another player is exploiting.
as far as i've seen it's not exploiting, and in my experience none of the people i've used this against (mostly friends and guildmates) have gotten the message. That being said it's a dirty tactic and i won't be surprised if it gets hit with a nerf soon. Unless we're talking about two different things this is not an exploit because it is taking advantage of a combination of attacks in a skillset, NOT a bug. The bug is either with a different issue or with the system message that is displayed.
As far as what the BH did, dirty at first yeah. What he preceded to do (spam in your town and such even after asking him to leave)can probably be consideredharassment and can/should be reported.

My apologies for the misunderstanding, but I wont be needing to "look it up." I simply misread that part of your post. You seemed to be defending the attitude that is ruining the game for a lot of people.
Yet Another Jedi Troll Thread?
IT ISA DAZE ATTACK. Please go to the smuggler forum andwhine about it there. It's not a core skill to the BH profession.
Rifleman have it too. If you are Master Rifleman the daze is about 7 seconds, and the cool down timer is about 3 seconds.
Pistoleers have it too. It's called Disarming Shot. The timer on disarming shot is low enough to chain it.
-- Now ask your self WHY you should have a low damage attack which can be fired off faster than the effect lasts.
-- ANSWER: It's a crowd control attack; say there are 5 thugs on a mission - the pistoleer cycles targets and keeps them disarmed, someone else focuses fire on someone who isn't being 'suppressed.'
These attacks do very little damage compared to a straight up default attack.
And as you wrote, HE MISSED, you got up and ran. That's why this tactic isn't that great. In duels against non-jedi these attacks do such little damage that just about any drugs or food will keep you alive.
It may be cheap and sleezy - but it's not an i-win. Is it fun? Sure it's fun (when you are doing the shooting.) I'd say it's just about as much fun as killing a BH in4 seconds with armor break followed by3 sperate timers on body, head and leg hits.
Against a jedi with reasonable defences, you wont kill them with this. It should also make those knockdown resistance CA's a bit more valuable to jedi...
Also it's great for RP as you can taunt the prone jedi.

I must be missing this one... most of the time when a KD hits my opponent jumps right back up again...
Yeah that sucks
It involves using a combination of a certain ability with it. sorry im not gonna say what as i dont need more people knowing though im sure its going around anyways.
As far as vs. balance issues go, why is itharder for BH's to get Mandalorian armor and Jetpacks than it is to become a Jedi? MBH's need the armor and Jetpack as an essential strategy to combat Jedi. I beleive Eclipse has one person who "nearly" has a full set of Mandalorian armor (red andblack)and a Jetpack...after 2 years of working on it (and using Jedi to help too I might add). The armor set would becompleted --apparently if it weren't for a bug crafting some of the items.
I keep hearing insults about respec BH's, well what about all those who spent 1+ years attaining other professions, including a nearly full BH template, only to drop it for another profession; then decide to respec MBH this time around because it made it easier to solo as a broken MCH? I wish people would drop the respec insult, because the same can be said for Jedi respec'ing their template.
I've been playing since launch, and the only thing I respec'd that I didn't actually play far enough up in the skill tree in the past is Master Creature Handler, and it's a joke since the profession is so utterlybroken. There are a lot of MBH's that were MBH's in the past that dropped it, just respec'd back to it when the opportunity presented itself, and they are getting bunched up into the stereotyping bandwagon. A lot of players drop professions before they are mastered to try something else for a change of pace. So don't rag on those who decided to come back to finish off a template because they can.
The population explosion of Jedi helped fuel the BH proliferation, players were sick of seeing Jedi everywhere. On the Eclipse server, it appears that there are more Jedi than BH's, and most Jedi's are in every Starport with a full group of Jedi's. Padawan's can only seem to be found on Kashyyyk. I've only seen 1 paddi on Dantooine briefly looking for a group. At this pace, MBH's will be eventually work on becomming Jedi, if you can't beat them join them. If this happens, the Jedi population will be so out of control, that muchmore drastic measures will be needed down the road.
