Thread: Is there a new bh bug?
ok, I have to reply to you as i have teste3d the same thing happen this evening.
My proton carbine has min 500 damage and max 820 but I Only hit for 200 max (in testing with a jedi today Unbuffed)
THis never used to happen. mind you I changed temp. used to be MRM like your goodself. MCM has also lost me speed. My character's speed is now 40!! WTH!!
Anyone else come acrross thes probs above and my problem with speed/Damage? Maybe just AA's C'as and an Uber gun will solve the issue, But I seriously felt like a nuetered dog tonight lol.
I know that jedi have damage mitigation, but crikey, this guy is no where near full temp, and he was not fighting just standing there while I tried to do some damage.
My weap is:
Proton carb
2 something speed / min 500 DGE max 800/ 70 sac with pup. DPS around 400
You guys probably are not factoring in accuracy vs. defence in your combat output. The higher your opponets defence vs your accuracy the closer your output comes to the min damage of your weapon. It works the same way as mitigation worked pre-curb.
If the Jedi is a Master Defender with Aura running your damage output will be based near the min value of the weapon. Then factor in armor on top of that. Then if the Jedi is wearing a PSG that will further reduce your damage.

PvP damage is calculated differently than PvE damage. PvP has a lot more variables such as armor, PSGs, damage type, defense vs accuracy, innate defenses, foods, spicesand mitigation, etc. It's not a BH bug, much less a bug at all. It's how the system works. You guys just need get out and learn more of it.
The jedi more than likely had some defender which has innate jedi armor which will mitigate some damge, plus aura or some other jedi defense skill which will mitigate sme more damage and prabably some food which would mitigate even more. All of which takes your rifles damage and your DPS down to nothing. Practice, practice, practice....
thanks for the info shagg.
practice yes. Can you give any advice as to what foods can help . i take crispic for accurace. Maybe if i get some carb speed aa's that would be good. The jedi i dueled just said 'just wait until the right moment' But thats not really my style. i like to run in Paralyse, apply states, Get some Dots in if poss, then root and come out to range. When i get to range and the Jedi is still rooted, I would like to know that I can do some decent damage to him to make him/her heal and lose some mind etc.. Maybe I just ned a better gun, some speed AA's/ Ca's and some food that i have not seen yet.
Im not sure of the damage multiplier for critical shot but Ill throw out some numbers to further explain combat.
If we estimate that your gun hits for (665 + 1340)/2 = 1002 average damage. Next comes the PvP reduction which is 30% if I remember correctly, that leaves 701 damage. Then we guess a 15% reduction due to defence vs accuracy penalty, that leaves 596 damage. If your opponet is a Master Defender s/he will mitigate around 53% damage from innate armor, that leaves 283 damage. If the Jedi is wearing a PSG that is 2200 it will mitigate 22% damage that leaves 220. Your final average damage will be based off that multiplied by the multiplier attached to your special.

Also remember that most Jedi with Improved Force Aura are able to get their ranged and melee defence up over 700 (I personaly can get my defences to about 739 for melee, and almost 800 for ranged). That will mitigate the dmg quite a bit also.
