Basically, any droid is the same. Its the modules that are installed that allows the droid to do stuff.Beyond that, the only droid with a unique purpose is the EG-6 Power Droid, which recharges other droids. If the Surgical droid has any inherent functions, they are broken at this time. Sorry.

You need to be a Medic or doctor.
The droid will allow you to heal in other places other the camps, and Hospitals.

I recently dropped MCH and found myself looking for a good tank. Since I have never owned a droid before, I thought it might be fun to try out. I ordered the best combat droid the MDE could make along with a crate of batteries and a repair droid.
Well, in my very first engagement the droid get's DB'd. It tells me I need a vitality pack? Why would a droid need a vitality pack? Anyway when I tried to call out the repair droid I'm told that I can't have both out at the same time because I've exceeded my control limit.
How does this all work? Is the repair droid worth anything and how do I fix my Probot? Also, are Probots worth using as a tank? I want to support DE's now that I've left the CH profession but I'm a little confused. Please enlighten me..
Sorry to clutter up your boards but any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Check back with your MDE retailer tomorrow
Seriously tho, with the new combat droid changes that were patched in today, you will want to buy a new droid. What you are looking for is listed below:
Tank = Advanced LE Droid
Damage Dealer = Advanced Probot
Balanced = Advanced R3 Droid
There are new stim packs and wound kits to restore the health of your new droid. Keep in mind that these are CL10 pets, so they wont be tanking any rancors for you. More information as to the exact HAM and damage range is found below:

and your problem with the repair droid is a long standing problem. the only thing the repair droid can repair is other people's droids, because, as you noticed, you can only have one droid out at a time.

You need at least novice scoutfor a Harvester Droid to work.
Here is a guide from the Scout forums on using a Harvester Droid - to be honest goingto the Proffession forums and reading the Guides and FAQs stickied at the top is the first thing you should do before starting any proffession.
A Scouts Droid Guide
DWB stands for Death Watch Bunker, it is a "dungeon" on Endor. Buffing is a term used for Doctors enhancing your stats for a period of time using special Stim Packs.

dwb means Death Watch Bunker which is on Endor....buffs increase HAM (Health Action Mind) minus the M for a few hours at a time to make you strong enough to take on the galaxies inhabitants.

so i read on hear that some of you Rangers use apro-bot to keep the damage going on the Krayts.so i went out and got one too. now i dont know nothing about no droids so i thought i would practice it out on the Gorax.but the Gorax takes out that pro-bot like in two hits.i cant keep the stupid thing together.if i cant get it to last against a Gorax theres no way in hell it will last against a Krayt.so how do you use the stupid thing.i just been telling it to attack. it goes and attacks then gets the bolts knocked out of it.or should i just give up on the pro-bot

Don't send the droid in first.
I'd lob a trap at the creature then shoot at it for a bit to make sure it aggros you. Then send in the droid. If the animal wants to gnaw on you, it will ignore the droid nibbling on it.
