Just reactivated my account after a few months of break. So I get on and the first thing I want to do is make some cash and update all my equipment and weapons. So I take a 31k payout missions on an NPC and fly over to Tat. I find the mark, pull out my R3 droid, drink some Brandy and go in guns-blazing.... shortly after I'm laying on my a$$... this has happened4 times on the same mark...

My template is MBH/MP/MM with a 470ish DPS DL-44 XT, full comp. armor. Of course my CL is 80 and my mark's was 81, I was healing with stimpack D's for 1.1k per heal. I figure if I tried a few times I could take the mark down, since it was only 1 lvl above me... but I can't seem to kill this guy.

I still have my respec token... so if worst comes to worst I can change my template... but I really enjoy Pistols....

Can someone please tell me what i'm doing wrong ???

He was hitting me forabout 120with Adv. Duelist Stance and aboutup to 250without.

My Dl-44 Xt has a base DPS of 287 and my comp.'s energy resist is 3100 - 3400

Out of his 17k health, I took it down to about 4k each time...

It is a boss, b/c it does have the gold < > things on it's name

Your problem seems mostly to be that you aren't used to the Combat Upgrade (upgrade... lol) yet. Once you get used to it and adjust accordingly, you should be ok.

The boss marks have double gold chevrons and 30-35k ham, I think what you encountered was a double elite mark, but not a boss. For one thing, and I say this constructively, your armor is junk. When I first came back to the game I was using old comp. armor with energy stats like that and getting my butt handed to me. I now use mostly padded armor for npc marks, and beat the 17-20k health guys without even thinking about it. Occassionally I will have a 30-35k boss that makes me think a little, but even they are easy enough to handle once you learn how. Also, the base dps on your gun is a little low. More important than that though, what is the sac on your gun, and what is it's max damage? DPS doesn't really take into consideration damage modifiers from specials, so I find it an unreliable indicator. You want a low sac gun, 65 I think is the pistol cap, and high damage, especially min. Being a carbineer, I usually use sac powerups on everything so I can shoot specials longer. Also, while you can get by on Stim Ds and ruby bliel(shouldn't be needed on a 17k health mark), many players do find at least 0020 medic useful in their templates.

Gun stats are spd. 2.1 dmg, 362-846 with 85 SAC

I'll buy some padded armor and food see if I can't take him down.

Gun isn't too bad, but not great either. You should be able to get by with using it for a while if you have to, but you need new armor ASAP.

Now wonder I was getting beat... all my Pre-CU good stuff sux now
