I guys,
I just became a novice bounty hunter, and i picked a mission where the planet and the individual is unknown to me. Do i need a seeker droid of some sort (for bounty hunters)? what do i do?
Thanks

The FAQs on the bounty hunter board will probably answer the majority of your questions.
If you still have any issues, feel free to post there.

Hi i just became a bounty hunt and i don't quite understand how to find my target.
I got a bounty on someone who messed up in jabba's plalce so that was my only lead, went there and nothing then i stopped to shop in a town near by, and i wanted into a tent, all of the sudden it popped up "mission complete" gave me some investigation pts and that's it.
i noticed there was a droid detection device in the corner so i don't know what happend. is that how you complete missions for BH? any help will be appreciated. thanks!

What level of investigation do you have ?
At novice you simply need to get your mission from a terminal, and then speak to a nearby Spynet Operative.
At higher levels , you will need to get a mission, speak to a higher lvl spynet operative who will give you a bio signature of your target. You then use a probe droid to find which planet your target is on, and then use seeker droids to track them down

No, for the first level, get the mission and talk to a spynet that will give you a wp. Go there and kill him. Simple. Once you get Investigation 1, you will need to buy seeker and akaryd probe droids. Use the probe droid after you talk to the spynet, and use the seeker once you get to the planet.

yeah, at novice just talking to the spy net op will give you a waypoint directly to your mark. and they don't move, at that level.
the reason your mission completed earlier is from someone killing your mark.
btw, there's a novice level spy net op right next to the terminal in coronet, there's also one a few feet away from the terminal in tyrena.

^As Glasi said, head to CORONET on Corellia
head to the center of the city(between the guild halls, etc...) Thers some bounty hunter mission terminals there.
use them, pick a random one, doesnt really matter, for ur first few missions maybe try lowest cash(easiest...) to get the hang of it, then try for hte highest cash(harder)
theres a spynet operative RIGHT NEXT to the terminals here in coronet, this is why i always used this terminal.
talk to him, he'll give u a waypoint to the bounty. check ur map, see if hes near a starport/shuttleport. if not, delete it then pick another one from terminal(trust me... saves lots of time running)
since ur novice, use ur LLC, it will rip them up pretty easy.
repeat this over and over =)
by the way, light lightning cannon is very EASY to max out... u can take out a lot of monsters with just 1 shot... especially after u get level lightning single... averages 5000 damage with an OKAY LLC... i maxed it in a day going to a nice aggro spawn of 1kish mobs and just standing next to them and lightning cone 1(shoots all in a area in front of u.... can kill like 10 mobs at once =) )
though i do highly recommend also raising pistol. bleeding shot, eye shot(blind), torso shot(owWWW) are great and a lot of mobs are highly eletric resistant so u will need a to switch often...
i havent raised investigation though i have xp capped and i can train 1 and 2 and almost 3... the 2nd missions arent worth the effort, u have to travel planets and get droids and ur reward will come out about 1k more than the starter missions(which u can do 10x of in the time it takes to do a 2nd level mission...)
but if u wannt hunt jedi u need invsetigation 3 heh

drewdrew, make sure you bank up 10,000 investigation XP before you train. you'll be able to train inv1, inv2, and you'll be about 1/2 way to being able to train in inv3.

super cool people thanks for the GREAT advice i will definately try em all. yeah my first completed mission i talked to a spynet guys out side the eisley cantina and lucky me the target was near my home in new sativa so i just swooped out then hit take cover with my LLC equipped and he was done in like 60sectoo bad i can't overcharge while prone...it would've been faster haha. but yeah i gotta check out that cone shot deal i'll find a mob camp and just knock em all out =)
well thanks agian people I really appreciate it. now only if they allowed 250 skill points so i can do my BH, Master Swordsman and Merchant. Also hey i was wondering if there is anything better than comp armor, something that isn't so bad on my HAMs. is clothing with perks better? just needed a educated opinion on that. thanks!

For PvE pick up a decent set of Ubese - It is way lighter on your HAM and can get very high kinetic resists (I have some 78%). It is also relatively inexpensive because it is much easier to make than Composite.

Drewdrew, don't overshot! If you overshot, you will need to repair after a box, but if you never overshot, it can last for almost all the LLC or all of the LLC tree. If you have no armor, pick up a cheap BE pet or a droid.
