Organic Creatures Do NOT die?! Um but droids can? Wow real Star Warsy! Rancor in RoTJ died? Oh No Alas it was merely a ruse! But in ESB, C3PO died when he was taken part limb by limb! Really who is thinking of this stuff??
Creature Handler
Non-creature handlers will not gain creaturehandler xp now.
You must have at least a 15% chance of taming a creature to get the taming menu option
Reduced regen stats of baby creatures and pets.Creature pets will have the same chance of being death-blowed by ferocious creatures as players doBaby creatures will not attempt to follow each other
A creature pet which is incapacitated when its master is killed or not around will die (pet control device will delete itself).
Pet control devices cannot be transferred to someone who is at their max-count for number of stored pets
Creature handlers will be able to transfer pets to non-creatureHandlers. The non-creature handlers will not be able to train the pet new commands, but they will be able to store them, call them, and issue any commands that the pet already knows. Note, only certain types of creatures, all fairly low level, can be controlled by a non-creature handler.
Pets can now attack creature lairs.
Fixed scaling bug with tamable creatures which resulted in too-small or too-large baby variants.
ADDED July 25th:
Pets will never be "death-blowed", but instead will suffer a reduction in max Health, Action and Mind in cases where they would have been death-blowed.
Creature handlers will not be able to 'call' pets that they would have no chance of taming
Fixed an issue with pets wandering around aimlessly in the midst of combat
Fixed an issue with pets bolting to the location they were called during/after combat
Removed the requirement for a creature handler to be within 30 meters of his pet in order to gain xp.
Added a system message explaining why transfering a pet fails
CH's will only be able to call a max of 60 'levels' worth of creatures. So master CH's can call a Rancor, but not three Rancors (or they could call 2 lower-level creatures, or 3 even lower level creatures, etc.)
As you can see, DE will be fixed this next patch, WOW, know why? Cause surgical droids didn't talk, OMG We couldn't survive without that. These are the issues that fixed, Yet on July 9, Holocron posted some of the problems were fixed on other things. These were not on that list. Here is a link to the thread: http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=droid_engineer&message.id=1295 . Is this all lies to pacify this broken class? Does George Lucas really endorse this? Does he even know?
Droid Engineer
You can now get a more detailed Examine window on droid components.
Changed the armor integrity attribute to armor toughness
Added mechanism quality to the Examine window for droid deeds.
Removed personality chip ingredient slots from droids that don't talk
Added the surgical droid to the list of droids that do talk.
It is no longer possible to apply damage over time effects to droids.
Droid medic modules should now have a variable effect on medical wound healing, depending on what quality medical modules were built into the droid.
Droids allow a person to drag an item on top of their pet droid to store an item in it. (assuming that the droid has a storage module, of course).
Droid pets will die when incapacitated
Fixed a problem that prevented surgical droids from being used to heal wounds.
I think it is cool that they are slowly destroying all the working classes' functionality so that they are as useless as all the broken classes. This will make the game balanced. J/K
Then again, justtake away everyone's classes and let them use onlyhand to hand. This will balance theentire game. Itmight suck as a game, but it would be balanced. At least they only took away half the functionality instead of taking away everything and letting us play like exact clones of each other. Though for me after the coming CH nerf, you might as well have taken away everything, cause I won't be playing my class, and I certainly won't be playing a DE seeing as they are both wastes of time.
That is what cracks me up the most. DEs are complaining about droids dying. Perhaps they do not understand supply and demand. People are always going to want a Probot and such, the market will always be there. But if the droids can last forever, you will not find too many buyers, only new characters.

Plus there is the added effect of if droids die, thats more of a market for DEs as people will need to replace their droids.
If probots are disposable, that is, they wear out in use, there's an ongoing market for the droids that DEs craft.
This seems pretty straightforward to me.
Planned obsolesence has been a viable strategy for manufacturers for decades to maintain a market.
And with the new system going to be implemented. It'll provide more strategy to the profession, in my opinion. I'd suggest stop complaining about the being the most powerful profession, and still let the devs work out the kinks in the game.
I also wouldn't be against pet death when it has been explored fully and all the bugs are gone that would cause accidental death. The problem is, since they can never guarantee this half finished game is not going to kill your pet accidently, or your droids, it is ludicrous to add death for either into the game.
Perhaps you should recommend they add salvage abilities to DE's that way they could salvage scrap from a droid and not have to do as much the second time around. And have the droiddegrade at a faster rate everytime it is killed.
