Thread: The TRUE Problem With Jedi's Strength
And remember, if they camp the crystal dropping mobs, they just get more BH's after them (oh and I agree with the dragon hunting, but they need to fix they're loot tables a bit).

That is why Bounty Hunter's appear so strong. That said, I will admit that health buff crystals and Combat Medic's Thyroid Rupture are overpowered. However, most Jedi aren't prepared for a Bounty Hunter and get wiped to the floor because, guess what, the Bounty Hunter is prepared to fight a Jedi. Is the Jedi prepared for the Bounty Hunter? In almost ever case, no.
Take into account also that most post-CU Jedi ground AFK or in spin-groups, requiring the Jedi to learn very little of their template. Most Jedi's make the excuse that their pearls and crystals are sub par: I ran Bounty Hunter missions for 2 months(87 million credits in Bounties and loots)to fund my current equipment. How many Jedi do nothing but hunt Krayts for 2months or camp crystal-dropping mobs? You will find very few that did, and guess what? Those are the Jedi that waste Bounty Hunters with ease.
Point is: LEARN your template.'Strength' is only relative to the skill of the individual playing the character.
Good insight. If only everyone could be as mature. This post was a direct "stab" at Jedi, but was written with thought, and eloquence so as to avoid overtly "flaming" or generalizing the Jedi. Well said!
I've always maintained that it's not the template, but the player. Some people are good at PvP, some are not. It matters not what equipment, skills, items, buffs, foods, etc you have if the other person is just better at playing the game. I think the same argument can be made about bounty hunters though. Too many bounty hutners take the "easy road" and either respec, or grind the template so fast in AOE groupsthat theyhave little experience withworking their template, how to use it effectively, manage actionwith their new specials, which food combinations work best for them, etc.
The point is.... on BOTH sides of the fence, we all need to learn our templates, or "pay our dues" so to speak. I didn'tbecome a great hunter overnight. It tookmillions of credits, practice, trial anderror, butmost importantly: it tooktime. That's whatmade thedifference for me.Rather than saying "no my template is rubbish" andchanging it,Igave it a shot, and learned it insideand out. Now... after running through it all, Iam in a position to pass on what I have learned, so to speak. Sadly many newhunters just don't want to listen. They want an "instant win"template, and are frustrated when the template that someone told them will accomplish that just doesn't work for them. They lacked the patience to invest the time required to truly learn.
practice makes perfection

I think you make great points, and for the most part are right. The Jedi that spin-grouped or Ryatted don't know their templates deserve to be hunted and killed. But, I think there are exceptions too. Jedi strength is not what it once was and I've seen a couple instances of people who

Tried that and failed. The problem being that since I'm not FOTM, not even defender at all, I'm just a walking target. Let's take this back and bit. How about all BH buydefenses separately, then give me a call.

Especially when the oh so lordly BH were picking on low level paddies. When the hybrids came in, carrying rifles, oh how many of you cried not fair. By it's very nature the BH system means the Jedi never gets to pick the fight, which means you guys wait for the buffs to drop, so unless I'm running around with a doc constantly reapplying buffs, I've lost that right off the bat. The only option really is if you see a dot, leave.

Yeah, well as a Pre-CU without the uber saber because I played, I have learned one thing Post-CU: Don't bother. I have a MBH that I can loot-*expletive* better with than my Jedi because his capped Featherweight and ALR have mins close to the saber and maxes above it. It kinda makes you sick especially when I wasn't a loot-*expletive* pre-cu, and now it's impossible to get the better stuff. Let's take 300pts off the top and bottom of all BH weapons. How much would that suck? How much would that mess up your "skill use". Let's also raise the SAC's because as a MLS with all but 1 LS resource hitting a perfect 1000, I can't get below 95SAC base. My ALR has a lower SAC!
Basically what you're also saying is the uber leet, loot-*expletive*, jacks/janes get the bonuses because they have unlimited (or nearly so) to play and loot-*expletive*. Yep, just great. Now let's apply this to BH right now too. All of your weapons right now, that's what you get, better adk it, cause we're turning off all high end drops, that includes the bh loot bosses. How long would it take if that were broken to get fixed? You guys would scream murder! Jedi? We're just ignored.
Point is: LEARN your template.'Strength' is only relative to the skill of the individual playing the character.
That and cry the other template is too uber as the devs are more than happy to nerf rather than fix. Don't forget to play the overpowered FOTM and regrind every nerf. Don't forget to pick a class that gets a fix attempt within 24 hours of a bug vs. 4+ months for some!

No offense, but you sound like you picked up Jedi because you couldn't pvp without one. My Jedi doesn't have Defender either.
And sabers are the best weapon in pvp at the moment because their min-max have less than 100 damage difference. You'll never hit for less than 100 below your max damage with your lowest powered special. Try that with a pistol.

After I got a Jedi I PvP'ed quite a bit, dealt with the 90% resist armor, the annoying sabertef, et al. I generally keep a low profile so PvP doesn't happen unexepected too often. When I do PvP today, my BH can outlast most Jedi without too much difficulty, unless they're pre-cu loot-*expletive* because they have good weapons. Even then it's a heftyfight.
You did just circumvent answering/replying tomy questions and statements however. You did so very typical board troll manner: accuse the other guy. Now, oh so uber and godly all knowledgable one in the matters concerning PvP: Perhaps you'd consider replying to what I said other than accusing me of being unable to PvP.

Please tell me how my saber is the best PvP weapon again. I've filled 4 bankboxes full of junk tunes on pearls and crystals, poors to the two flawless that tuned like poors. Most of the crystals I tuned were good or quality at the lowest. My saber still doesn't break 575Max. Tell me again, how godly my saber is in PvP.

You BHs crack me up... In one breath you tell us we have no skills and need to learn how to PvP... Practice Practice Practice, then in the next you tell us it's our fault were on the terms for all the dualing we do. Then in the third breath, you tell us that if we didn'twaste all that time grinding and dualing, we could have spent 2 months camping Krayt Dragons on our alts so we could have a saber that was worthtwo squirts of piss.
Since you are the all knowing one, and know exaclty what it takes to get a worthwhile saber, how many Krayts does it take to come up with a saber that might earn the respect of a real bounty hunter? I don't bother with counting the dragons, but I have tuned well over 100 pearls and 300 crystals with my post CU Jedi to come up with a 492-611 damage 32fc saber with a SAC of 122. Boy I'll bet that'll strike fear into... well... maybe an entertainer.
Once apon a time, I was a hell of a PvPer with my litle 120k hybrid Jedi.My PvP ratingwent from the mid 1100s to 1576 before I broke that template trying to be a real saber toting Jedi, and that was only killing the BHs that came to hunt me; no dualing. Now, with this broken saber and gimped profesion, I just run when a BH shows up. The last pair that came for me got a 12,000m tour of the worst neighborhoods of Dath before I crawled down to the bottom of the Spider Cult Cave, found a cozey seat and logged.

I never said it was your fault for being on the terms. However, if you want to be 1.5x as powerful, then invest the time to become so. If you don't then settle for being 1.0x.
