Thread: So this stinks....

I'm going to venture a guess and say that everyone has heard that with the new publish tomorrow heals will also have an action cost, instead of just mind.

Heals are a big issue for us, and now that its going to take a pool that we DESPERATELY require, this is going to hurt us badly.

Now this also affects Jedi, but they already have advantages on us:

  1. They have buffs that we can't compare to, it requires Force but a lot of Jedi have holocrons to compensate for that.

  2. Some of their sabers do more damage than even our best weapons.

  3. Their heals, though also going to require action, heal more HP than ours.

Now I'm not an AMAZING Jedi hunter, but a lot of my strategy revolves around healing myself, and out lasting the Jedi. And with this sort-of-nerf, MCMs are gonna be screwed also.

So whats the point in adding this in on the next publish? Any people in testcenter know ANY benefit to this?

Well, if you use SAC power-ups, doc buffs, Blob candy and booster blue. Should be ok on healing and using combat special moves. I'm just a BH with Medic 0040. So its gonna hurt me as well but i can deal with it.

I'm a 2 year vet, so i been thru many changes and adapted well. I wish i had snare, might have to change template around if its very effective, but doubt it will be since a jedi can justre-buff force run again and that doesnt cost much force power.

If it makes you feel better, the Jedi are crying about the upcoming publish too because apparently we're all going to either switch our template to squad leaders or get cybernetics so we can keep them snared from 80 meters out.

As for the action cost on healing, the same thing applies to Jedi sothe only real change we should see from it is shorter fights.

With more speed comes more damage.

Without a lot of damage output, we won't be able to take Jedi.

Either way you look at it is all about damage output.

Shorter fights in which most BHs will lose. I'd rather fight for a long time and win, then have the fights be shorter and lose.

You obviously haven't been following the discussions going on in the Jedi forums then because they think the new publish means they're going to lose every time. Rumor has it certain BH's are now hitting over 3000 damage in one hit.

I haven't even touched the jedi forum yet. I dont see why they would think that.

At any rate, I guess we'll see how it turns out.

actually, all of those points are pretty much wrong.

Jedi's +20 combat haste > doctor haste which you can get anywhere from afk bots, in concert with the other doc buffs.

what other buffs do you mean? aura? pfft, how could you beat any melee at all if aura was so much of a problem?

saber issue: i've seen 500+ min crafted trandos, my saber is awesome for post-cu (i stocked up on premiums pre-cu) and with 593-697 damage, the trandoshan hunting rifle really shows it's colors. the majority of jedi are now post-cu unlockers who have sabers of usually 300-500 damage ranges, which suck so completely.

And since no one gets master healer because it sucks, the only heal a jedi has that would heal for more than a 4000 CM or MCM, total heal (with it's absolutely outrageous costs), is a non factor and the 4000 CM build heals more than a 4000 Healer jedi does (bactashot with a droid = 1600+, you cana also bactajab or toss in the interval of time).

So all those points are pretty much faulty.

Jedi's ACTUAL advantage comes from the range of abilities we have (my template has a snare, root, ranged KD, and some decent power specials) as well as forcerun, but now your snares will undo my forcerun, shich should allow you to stay out of the 32m saberthrow range.

With the movement changes, you shouldn't need to heal as much, and if you do, then you need to re-evaluate your template.

since jedi will no longer be able to effectively close the distance, open up with a snare at your max range or with cyber arms and if we're in the open we should be kite-bait. I however am still confident that i'll be able to use terrain to my advantage or capitalize onunskilled BH who allow snares, roots, and KDs to fail at keeping me out of 32 m. If i can get you into the 32m you're probably going to die.

IMO, you should be happy with publish 24, movement changes are totally changing the game.

There needs to be more emphasis on this.

The _REAL_ problem is the shorter fights in PvE will not be in your favor. NPCs have unlimited action/mind regen and only a very select few have to conform to the same mechanics that the players do.

As a jedi, if you get snared just reapply force run. Only carbineers( supression fire) and rifleman(knee-cap) can spam the snares. They don't even last that long and do not hit for much damage. Im a master pistoleer so no love for me, root works the same. Increased healing cost for all players i think is a good thing, makes CM less effective, and the fights should be shorter(thank god). I am one of the rare ones that is looking forward to the new publish as everyone will have to adapt to the new changes if one wants to win or survive.

Crying will be over soon and all shall adapt, overcome, and adjust.
