Ok, I'm learning new stuff about BH everyday.

Battle droids, what exactly do they do? Scout, Fight, both? Also, how many are we allowed to have? Tell me one and I'll go balistic, especially since I see creature handlers running around the city with 4 rancors as pets.

I've almost got my master marksman and master scout done and also have eng4, survey4. I see some of you doing novice carbineer or pistoleer as well. I'm just a little curious the skill point route some people are taking to be a good BH. Can anyone help?

As said in many other threads, the only Combat droid we have that is worth anything is the Probot. They are decent in battle, and look like Imperial Probe Droids. We do not have Battle Droids, Advanced Battle Droids, or the Droidekas.

Are there any droids specifically built for battle that you can make? I looked through the blueprints and didn't find any. For example, the cool droids that rolled around in episode I, and unrolled with double blasters with shields.

Unfortunately, no. There are no Battle Droids for us. You don't get the Droidekas at all (the rolling ones from the movies), nor do you get the Battle Droids or Advanced Battle Droids.

We have two that are combat-capable. The DZ70 is capable, but absolutely worthless; it is weaker than the weakest monster and will go down in one hit. The other combat droid, the Probot, is a bit stronger. However, it has been nerfed heavily recently, and is about as good as a Novice Marksman with a CDEF Pistol. I guess the extra damage can help, but don't expect it to be a powerful Bodyguard to shield you from damage.

Droidekas. Everybody wants to know where the droidekas are. The model is in the game. There are some broken ones lying in heaps next to assorted droid engineer trainers, and there are a few as NPCs out there somewhere, but currently droid engineers cannot build them.

It seems a little odd that they're not included, but for one maybe they'd have had to make them too powerful. After all, two of them in Episode I were able to stalemate two Jedi. And of course, by the time period of the game, that design is at least 40 years old.

I've also wondered if there's some as-yet-unknown continuity reason for not including more combat-oriented droids. The devs had to get content approved by Lucasfilm. In a way it kind of makes sense that Palpatine would outlaw battle droids after getting his clone army established. Battle droid armies were the tactic of the Trade Federation and the Separatists, and furthermore, the ability to construct a droid army would be one of the few things that could pose a threat to the Emperor's power. Droids follow their master, whoever that may be. Clones are as compliant as droids, but can be mentally influenced by use of the Force, which Palpatine does, giving him an advantage. Kind of a stretch, and we'll have to wait the better part of a year to find out, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if Palpatine makes droidekas and the like illegal in Episode III.

The whole bit that the two jedi onlyable to stalemate twoDestoryer Droidshas to do with the fact that Jedi are not nearly as effective against robotic/droid constucts because they are not a "Natural part of the living force." and if you notice in Ep2 the Republic troops rips all the droids to pieces where the jedi had a tough time and almost got all of them killed. That also explains how and why a jedi is able to take out a Rancor "RotJ"(Rancor are living beings and therfore a part of the living force) but Qui-gon, and Obi-wan were unable to hanndeltwo Destoryer Droids. I honestly don't think that battledroids or Destroyer droids or any battledroidsfrom pre EpIV should be in the game. If you know about the comicbooks or anything like that from teh SW univers there were a heck of a lot more options for combat ability droids than a probe droid that shouldn't have been very combat oriented to begin with. I think that New combat type droids should be used I know there are more options besides the ones in game now, and the ones from Phantom/Attack/EpIII.

is one droid alone really supposed to be that strong? I always figured they were super weak but very good in numbers. And they cant have battle droids and such....the Trade Federation is dead and i dont think the Empire copied their droid ideas.

Bah. I guess it's alright to have creature handlers running around with three rancors (which does not fit in with continuity) but it's NOT realistic to have a droid engineer that make make or fix droidekas up.

Continuity has nothing to do with this game. There's nothing in SWG that fits in the continuity of the SW universe.

I say we need Combat droids !

I hoe they do add more Droid design to DE profession. As it stand right now why would anyone want to go into the profession. There really is no Market for them since they been nerf. I seen poor abandon Probot all over the place!

Come on Dev let get the DE profession in demand again!~

Jedi Robes
Long awaited are the Jedi robes! Gone will be the days of Jedi running about in armor. The Jedi robe will provide a hidden toughness value that will protect the Jedi, similar to armor, but providing more of a Jedi feel. -TH Jedi archive II

Pre-nerf, I was seeing MSE and DZ-70 droids abandonned by there owners. Now I'm shocked to see Probots!!! Devs... thanks for the huge help! Not only do we have non-functional modules (and quite frankly, cheapely though droid idea as they are all the same) but now our only sellable droid is being abandonned because there too damaged and they can't be fixed quickly!!! Why do the CH get NEWstim packs for there stupid pets and we can't even get a WORKING Droid repair kit!!!???

My thoughts on the subject are that I think there are Destroyer Droids in game but you halfto find the Scematics which are very rare. Yes I think that the Combat droids in game suck becuase of all the Nerfs and I also think we Droid Engineers need more types of Combat Droids or at least more options, Like making a Probot focused on Ranged attack or Melee attack maby even making them moderatly good at both. giving some of the better med droids the ability to heal people themselves but you need to put stim packs in them. I would like more different kinds of Combat Droids instead of just the Probot and the other one{cant remember the name} but like 6 or 7 all with different weaknesses and Specializations like Destroyer droids only being able to do Ranged combat and suffer Sever penalty to Meele combat things like that.
