Hello all, Just wanted to find some strategies or a way to help me kill lvl 82's bh mission mobs. I got a mission in Dathormir and it tured out to be a lvl 82 double chevron mob. I lost to him 4 times before i quit. a couple of those time i was doc buffed and some had food/spice buff.

Template:

MBH

MCarbs (proton carb) SAC sliced.

CM 4000

Do i need a better template? Do i need certain food/spice/drink? Do i need a certain type of Armor? I need help...

What is the energy resist stat of your armor?

what is the stats of your weapon?

do you use a PSG (shield generator)?

if they're hitting you for alot...you're probably getting hit for the type of damage your armor is weak against. Recon is great against energy, but not so good against kinetic. Assault is the exact opposite. If you're using battle armor...get a better set. Check the combat log to see if they were using kinetic or energy and adjust accordingly. buy a psg for the added defense. run a duelist stance macro. keep them kd'd as much as possible. other than that, you'll learn some tricks with practice.

Be patient. These guys can have a lot of HAM, and it will take you a while to wear them down.

If they kill you too fast, it's because you're not healing fast enough. Are you absolutely sure there's nothing else aggro-ing you at the time?

Well, then take some Citrus snow cake, to improve your healing, and mind food and booster blue spice to let your mind recover. Also have good stims, (over 1000 health) and bring some ruby bliel, so that you can use them every 30sec instead of 60sec.

Make sure you use your high damage specials, while you have the Action. Use knockdown.

Also consider your armour - is it good enough? Is the kinetic resist better than the energy? Then get into melee range, eat some vegeparsine, and shoot at him, while he takes out his sword/pike/axe (if he has one). Sometimes their second weapon is crap, and won't do much damage - if you're lucky.

And remember - be patient and cool, rushing in unloading your action, and then panicking too much to heal will mean you go down fast....

While using 8k or so energy armor, and your healing abilty of CM4000 (2.2k per 10 seconds or so) you should really have no problem killing these guys.

Just make sure youre packing some healing enhancers just incase they carry a kinetic weapon, otherwise they shouldnt have even taken half your health before they down.

Thax for the Info psyckos. I will also have to check my stats on my weapon/armor.

With my template what is the best armor for BH missions? Also what stats should i look for and what kind of slices should i try to get on them?

Recon armor with 8k resist or such should do fine, make sure to use duelist stances and the following foods:

Vagnarian Canape, Vasarian Brandy, Elshandruu Pica Thundercloud if you feel like reducing incoming damage even more, and throw in a booster blue if you find your mind or action still going down too fast.

cm ftw

i wear some 5-6k padded battle armor, both ranged arms and a psg. as mbh/mcm, these guys are a cakewalk. paralyze, shock, thyroid, fire, poison, heal once, kd then lay on the critical / torso shots. heal as needed. takes about 1-2 min for the gold bar guys.

Hmm your temp sounds close to mine, but you are carbine and I am pistols (MBH MP CM 4000). I have no trouble at all with the big ones (CL 82 35k Ham) gold double elite. I do alot of KD shots, always make sure Duelist Stance is up. I also take time to heal both Health and Action - while I am regen action, I just keep healing Health till I am all greened up. I take foods that up my health/action/mind also. Sometimes you can get the Mark to area hit some things around you too!!!

With that temp, any armor with over 7k resist to its main stat will be sufficient. No reason to get it sliced unless you plan on going after jedi...then the AB slice is a must. Forgot to tell you to check the vitality of your armor....if it's at half or lower, that could contribute to the amount of damage you're taking. I strongly urge you to get a psg with atleast 2k energy resist...if i forget to change out of my assault armor, the psg makes up for it. I try to enter the fight wearing ubese personally since most of the marks i fight use energy weapons.

For the boss marks, I take a brandy and a booster blue and the occassional pyro to bump up the damage a bit. For elites, a brandy will suffice just to make my action last a bit longer. Have the duelist stance macro ready to go, but only use it if you're taking over 125 pts of damager per shot...anything else is a waste of action and a combat roll. Have bacta shot, spray and some stim d'son your hotbar. If you need the occassional heals, use shot since it uses the least mind. If you're getting tagged (no doubt by a mark thats pummeling your weaker resist), you can always hit shot, then spray and if needed, the stim d. Honestly though, I've only had to use 3 stim d's total on well over 500 missions. Your CM healing is all you should need if you're prepared.

You are probably trying to spam specials at them and your action is dying. You need to hang back and use ranged shot as your default, then throw the specials in on occasion. There really isn't any reason you can't keep up with heals.

As a Master Rifleman/MBH/0004 Pistoleer, I just make sure I keep Improved Duelist Stance running and have a stack of stims on the toolbar. I only have 0010 medic and +20 healing eff. (around 800-850 per heal) and still don't have much trouble with them.

Use Eye Shot to lower their accuracy, and any other debuff shots you might have. When I was a pistoleer I would keep Intimidate on them as well. Knockdown as often as possible, and use any action slowing shots you might have (Disarming Shot, Startle Shot, etc.)

I'm usually always buffed as well, and that can help quite a bit. There's a buff-bot character in Kaadara on my server right next to the starship terminals in the starport. If you have the option take the extra minute or two to get the buffs before flying out. One set can last up to 40 minutes, good enough for 3-4 missions.

For foods I only use Blob Candy and Kanali Wafers when doing NPC marks, and I will pop a Ruby Bliel in the rare instance I manage to aggro some other mobs that the mark doesn't area attack onto him.

If the (bleep) really hits the fan you can use a root or snare you might have and justrun out of range, heal up, thengo back at him.

I had trouble with the gold chevron guys when I started as well, but as I learned the best combination of attacks for my profession they got incredibly easy. With a good weapon and a PSG and the right tactics the onlydifference between them and a normal mark is the amount of time it takes to drop them.
