I find it helps to start out in rifle range, move to pistol range and then to melee range and see where you take the least amount of damage. Sometimes those 82's pull out a cdef rifle and plink away for 100a shot. I also use air cake or pikatta pie and either exo protein wafers or synth on the bosses.

I actually pulled one of these cats two days ago, only my second as a BH this time around. I was using some grinding composite with 5000 energy resist, so I thought I was toast. It was a long drive so I decided to take the short way home in case this didnt work out. My temp is MDoc/MBH/NovCarbs. I was using a sliced proton carbine with a sac pup. Of course I was buffed, high on crispic, ruby, and maybe brandy and spiced tea. I was getting hammered pretty quickly, and I was using specials sparingly to save action.

The thing I forgot at first was duelist (which is a stupid noob mistake considering I came from TKM a month ago). Once I tacked on my duelist stance macro the tide seemed to change. I was just patient, kept healing, and outlasted the little bugger. They arent especially hard, I just needed to focus on defense, which is not something I have typically had to do in this profession.

You know that scene, the one where Marlon Brando did that little hand wave right before he died. Yeah. That was beautiful man.

I wrote this before the NGE, now I feel like Brando

don'tbuy recon armor.... you can't wear it.

Use your battle or assault armor.... add a 2k resist psg.

try using a droid to help you out...... a medical droid with weapon module so it can shoot and help you heal better.

Are you running out of mind to heal? or are you getting killed before you can heal?

Has there EVER been a slice that lowered SAC? Like to see the stats on your proton.

I am having the same troubles as the chap who made this post. My question is what should we look for in a combat droid?

healing module for a rating of 100+

combat module for an extra damage output, if you can get it..... not a lot... but enough to help mitigate their super fast regen.

With that temp, any armor with over 7k resist to its main stat will be sufficient. No reason to get it sliced unless you plan on going after jedi...then the AB slice is a must. Forgot to tell you to check the vitality of your armor....if it's at half or lower, that could contribute to the amount of damage you're taking. I strongly urge you to get a psg with atleast 2k energy resist...if i forget to change out of my assault armor, the psg makes up for it. I try to enter the fight wearing ubese personally since most of the marks i fight use energy weapons.

For the boss marks, I take a brandy and a booster blue and the occassional pyro to bump up the damage a bit. For elites, a brandy will suffice just to make my action last a bit longer. Have the duelist stance macro ready to go, but only use it if you're taking over 125 pts of damager per shot...anything else is a waste of action and a combat roll. Have bacta shot, spray and some stim d'son your hotbar. If you need the occassional heals, use shot since it uses the least mind. If you're getting tagged (no doubt by a mark thats pummeling your weaker resist), you can always hit shot, then spray and if needed, the stim d. Honestly though, I've only had to use 3 stim d's total on well over 500 missions. Your CM healing is all you should need if you're prepared.

I have the same template as the OP and usually only wear crappy assualt armor when doing PvE. 5K energy or so if I recall.

The Boss marks should be no problem at all for his template with a decent weapon- I don't even bother to take spices or drink pyro on these guys- the key is to use duelist stance if you are geting too hard.

Bleed them to cut regen keep them KDed whenever possible. most of the time I dont even kite, but if you decide you want to kite use charge shot then pound the guy- apply one of your 2 snares to slow him down as you kite and to act as a KD timer. when the snare wears off its time to kd again.

well i didnt read alot of the posts but i have exact same temp as you with a proton carb (8 damg 2% speed and 3% critical) with a sac pup and 5404 resist battle armor with a 2209 or what ever the cap on the thing is psg and i have no problem with these guys....some foods i use are brandy/pyro booster blue, spiced tea,and some other stuff that i forget right now (not loged in) but even without the foods i can kill a boss pretty easy....charge shot, leg shot, critical shot is your friend and i have like 1.3 mod speed so i can generally get the leg an crit. shot off befor he gets up and with the 32k ham boss marks i deal like 2000 total damg with this combo easy.
and btw mysig is wrong i reacently changed from mrifle to mcarbs and i have yet to update my sig

I know that this doesn't apply to you but some of these rifleman are forgetting thier biggest asset. I have a ranged arm and get 75m out.Prone and cover are your friends. I can take out 50 to 75% of thier ham before they even know I'm there!
