Depends how you intend to use it.
I keep several rifles for different uses.
Dmg pup for first strike weapon, SAC pup for another when the fight prolongs.

With a speed slice already I would go with a 32% or higher damage pup, so high powered barrel. If you slice for Critical Shot then you may want to go with speed pups, tactical grips. Also 32% or higher.

No dont damage slice it whatever you do! Your damage is capped already and getting a damage slice would literally be useless. Get a critical slice.

As for Pups, getting a damage pup will raise your damage to like 632 - 1335 or something like that =P

Sac pups are nice and with a high damage weapon i suggest useing it on jedi.

Is 1150 the cap for trando rifles or is it capped the same as other rifles? It also really depends on what kind of slice you are looking for.

I recently had a laser rifle made for me that I speed sliced to the 4th tier. It is now only 10 pts (damage) or so shy of being a triple capped weapon. While a damage PUP would let me hit pretty hard it would not only slow me down but eat up my action pool in the process. On the other hand, using a SAC PUP (22.5%) brings my action costs down even lower to a measly 63 points.

In essence you probably want to concentrate on 3 things:

-Mid to high speed

-mid to high damage

-as low a SAC as possible

Don't worry so much about the negative accuracy you see on certain PuPs or even weapons as it's currently broken anyway. You could have +200 accuracy bonus or -500 and it still wouldn't affect the damage.......for now anyway.

You know DPS doesnt mean anything unless you can actually shoot per second right?

You should be able to shoot every second with aspeed pup, but only regular shots, not specials.

Even then it's not right, since your damage per second is never what the dps is listed at, it seems to take the average only. Say your DPS says 800, with a speed pup you can hit every second, but not for 800. It's more like 400-600, and this is just your average creature, Jedi's take that down much lower.

But yeah, you're right DPS is a worthless stat to look at.

hey man i was under the same empression as u. i thought dps wasnt shiz. but i was wrong. i compared dmg pups to speed pups. dmg slices with speed to speed slices wit dmg pups. tested it for weeks and came to the determination that no matter how u swing it speed will always prevail over dmg. Dps does play a factor. if u do high dmg but it takes u over2 secs then it leaves to much time for recovery. The faster u attack the more they have to heal. and if ur a MCM like me and u have traumatize on them then they are fukked. you should try testing it out ud be suprised. it is tru that if u have 800 dps its not really 800 but its pretty damn close but think of this with a dmg pup its 500. putting it down the same ratio as u do the 800 and u arent looking at much. u need to lots of dmg really quick correct? speed is the only way to do that. ive taken a prepared jedi ( with a non defender tremp) down in one flurry. i would not have been able to do that with a dmg pup.

DPS assumes you're hitting right at that speed. But newslfash: our two strongest specials, torso and critical, have a 1.7 inate timer. That means if the modified speed on your weapon reads 0.5 seconds, and your DPS says 1500, you're still shooting those specials every 1.7 seconds.

Just look for a capped damage, mod. speed at about 1.5 or lower, and low SAC. I use SAC powerups because I dont hunt padawans, and you arent going to instantly-slay a knight. You need your action.

lol i didnt missunderstand with weapon speed comes high dps rating. even with ur speed around 1.5 modded if u put any pup on besides spped its going to be near 2. im not saying other pups wount be good im just saying speed will be better. ive tested it out. if ur sac is around 80 having a sac pup isnt necessary, because u have to remember u use mind as well. and if u heal while u are attacking ur mind will get low b4 ur sac anyways. and if u use 2 powers and ranged shot or one of the other shots u can attack every second easy. but its not smart to do that anyways. what i use speed 4 is basically like another tick like poisen and fire. i have ranged shot as my main so i do attack every second. then i have fire and poisen on to make them waste their force and mind.( i also have thyfoid and traumatize on them). i use power shots when they are knocked down or are low and wann ahit hard and fast(i also have an underhad shot macro).

Here's my trials and errors from the last 3 jedi I have fought. 2 full template and the third was about 80% done:

First one - Used 33% speed pup. Fantastic speed. My action was gone in no time. Found myself using ranged shot quite a bit to get my action back up, all the while I am constantly healing cause of all the damage he is dishing out .. further using my action!! I was not able to keep enough damage on him to get the advantage. I lost.

Second one - Used a SAC pup. Much better results than with the speed pup. I was able to keep damage up enough to force my opponent into a lot of healing. Long fight. Ran him out of force and he ran away. Stalemate.

Third one - Used 33% damage pup. Bingo! I had the constant edge in this fight. Great damage output forced constant healing. A well timed kd gave me a quick win in this fight.

To me anyway it seems like the winner goes to the damage pup. SAC pup did very well too. Stay away from the speed pup .. it just drains away your action too fast.

I think you misunderstand.

Speed is important. But DPS is not.

If you look only at DPS when you're buying a weapon you're making a mistake, because the DPS is not displayed correctly.
