Somebody please tell me if I understand what Edda said correctly, and if this is indeed how it works:
I have a slicedTrando rifle that has 496-1174 damage, 2.34 speed (1.41 my modified speed), 83 SAC. If my main attack is to alternate Adv. Critical and Imp Head Shots (both high-SAC, high-damage specials), then putting a speed PUP on this weapon will do absolutely nothing to increase my damage output over time, because no matter how low my modified speed gets, these specials will only fire at 1.7 seconds (assuming that the timer for Imp Head Shot is similar to that for Torso and Critical Shots)?
Now I am wondering if alternating Ranged/Placed Shots with a speed PUP is a better strategy than alternating Adv. Critical/Imp Head Shots with a SAC PUP with this particular weapon. Yes, I do realize that I will run out of action quickly alternating Adv Critical / Imp Head Shot using a speed PUP, but it often serves me well against mid-HAM targets, and I sometimes use a speed-PUP'd weapon for my opening volley.

That's what I'd suggest
Dmg pups are awesome for first strike, but after that a weapon that you can't fire is worthless no matter how hard it hits
