In the regular probot, only defensive modules... so armor. The advanced probot allows for service modules.

Can someone give me some basic information on Probots? What exactly are they? What uses can you make of them? Where do you get them? How much do they cost? How do you use them?

Thank you.

Sure! Probots are just a type of droid but they are for use in battling mobs. They are like having a pet in EQ, if you've ever played EQ. You can group with them and they fight with/for you. They will follow you around and you can issue commands to them and they will obey. Things like Follow, Attack, Guard, Stay, etc., etc.

Hey I just got one last night from Ghost on Corelia (cheap plug) and I had a question... he was telling me that the droid I bought wouldn't be able to store data (i.e. missions), and that I'd have to wait for him to be able to make better probots. Is that the case or is there some way I can use the probot I have to take the 10 missions I was hoping he could? Again, I haven't tried it out too much since I had to go to work....

Could some of you give me some feedback on the PROBOT line of droids and whether or not it's worth purchasing one? Even what a fair price would be if you happen to know... I've been reading a lot of conflicting info regarding them.

Thanks!

I have a probot and it has done wonders for me. I do destroy missions all the time and with the probots help, I can do it much quicker. The probot does about 100-130 dam, and the cost should be around 22K-26K. I personally think it is cool just to have around.

Where did you find that kind of droid? The one I have is no where near that strong.

I have a Probot and it is helpful in a pinch, but it takes away from the exp I earn from the kills it participates in. Am I doing something wrong? Can I earn points for the damage my tin can causes?

Normally I get about 800 for killing Imperials. With the Droids help, I get only about 230 or so. That means the droid is wasting the other 540 of exp. That's 67%. Does this exp go towards making it any better? or does it just evaporate for gnorts to absorb?

I like using Bot (his name, very creative, eh?) but if he's bogarting exp, Bot be damned.

If the probot does part of the killin', they get part of the XP. Which sort of makes sense. I've developed a tactic, probably used by many people, in which I spot a nice, juicy target that would normally wax me immediately... target it... then sic my probot on it. Since I'm not the one that started the attack, the mob ignores me and goes for the probot. That's when I start opening up. Usually, I'm completely safe and get a share of the kill XP (and all of the loot/resources).

The probot (and the above tactic) makes it easier for me to explore places I normally would fear to tread. I don't have to alter my route around red mobs anymore, which means I can get farther afield to survey for resources.

Of course, I bring along a tent or tent crafting materials... I'm one of the lucky group who suffers regular crashes... and when I return to the game, the probot is in storage... being far from a city or my house, I have to set up a camp to call out the probot again.

One thing that irks me is the lack of documentation on droids... I'm not sure what would happen if his little HAM bars reached zero, and I don't think I want to find out! I've also gotten a message saying the battery was low... don't know how that works or what I can do to fix/avoid that other than putting the Probot away for a while.

Ok first off if the probot would lose one of its HAM bars then it would just incap and you can store it then bring it out again to regain its health very easy. Also the low battery thing can be fixed by buying a Droid Battery. You can get these off of Artisans. You just bring up your datapad then drag and drop the battery onto the droid.
