Thread: To all a thought how to make BH vs. Jedi more community-friendly

ok, here my 2 cent to this discussion:

First of all, its right, who becomes paddy, gets the risk to get hunted by BHs, no doubt about that.

Now the reality ingame:

In my carreer to a fulltemp-jedi i got killed twice by BHs, in the following, unfine manner:

First death: 3 BHs at once, grouped against me, attacking me while fighting an elder in the back with 3! again 3!!!

vs. 1 distracted by a highlevelmob. That they were same faction doesnt bother me, as this is no argument in my eyes, if a BH does his job ^^

But what really bothers me, is that each of them knew, that BH vs. Jedi is officially considered as 1 on 1!

So i call it a "soft exploit", using a weakness in the missionsystem to spoil others game experience, for at that time i was worth like 140k on the terms. Now tell me, that such a "mark" requires 3 MBHs to engage in a fair fight? ridiculous

So this is not fair, not fun, just bashing others and spoiling fun.

Second time there were two BHs doing the same, attacking me while i was fighting the Katarn at 160k worth on the terms.

My solution to this all:

As it is possible to become a padawan without ever doing PVP at all, why not give roleplayers and PVE-players the chance (once in a characters lifetime and for always) to retire from all PVP-related actions?

That would fe mean, you get paddy and decide while doing the trails, wether you wanna become a knight whatever later on = PVP and terminals

...or not = no PVP with that toon, no healing in PVP, no buffing of PVPers, no GCW.

Personally i accept the actual game and the consequences it has to me as jedi, but i would choose "no pvp", for i dont like PVP in this game for many reasons and simply wanna use my jedi to roleplay and do quests fe. like i always did.

So here is where "forced to PVP" - argument comes from.

Not every jedi is a PVP-fan, but every BH is, as he decides to hunt playerchars.

A solution like figured above would once for all times stop all the harrassment, hate-tells, community-spoiling exploit-complaints.

Then the PVPers would be among themselves and nobody could ever start to complain again about forced to PVP.

One of the very strong credits of this game is the all-time-opportunity to choose free, how to play. I see no reason why this has to stop, just because of the fact, that a roleplayer or PVE-fan has grinded a Lightsaberwielder.

Make it a choice once for all times for evry paddy and the community gets back to peaceful coexisting in the same second.

This is even more important, as there are so many jedi now, that it starts to effect nearly evry player!

Greetz!

/coughbs...

i know a few bh that do not hunt jedi cause they just roleplay. Now stop the crying and go play a non pvp game.

You knew when you unlocked your jedi he or she would be hunted by bounty hunters.
You knew pvp is part of the game and still you cry about it.

Serious answer here:

If a jedi is roleplaying with any degree of success, they won't be on terms so this system would just get abused by non-roleplayers.

its going to be a shame when all the nice people leave this game because after 2 loyal years they did the only thing left to them and became jedi only to be met by GRIEFERS/A$$HATS/ and people like theTROLL who resonded to a positive post! With stop whining and go play a non-pvp game. /disgust

When Galaxys came out and alot of us started playing u were able to attain jedi by choosing to have your new alt become the Jedi instead of your toon u ROLEPLAYED with for years so he could continue his relationships there are other changes that have been made that have changed the face of jedi and thier role in pvp and the way they attain Visability that are not as promised .. Dont be an A$$HAT if u dont know how wonderful this game has been and how it has changed ...

and I do not have a Jedi im pure MBH and GAMER but i dont think of u guys as the enemy ur people behind keyboards playing a toon

and not to mention the poor souls out there that manage to unlock but only play like 3 hour a week .. die a couple times by BH and see how long it takes a regular player to come out of the xp hole.

Yes killing Jedi is our Job .. but detering someone from continueing to play a game when we need all the people we can get is being caused by changes in the rules .. and RolePlaying Jedi helps but it doesnt solve the problems SOE creates by underestimating the gaming community's needs

so much for the roleplayers...what about the players, that became jedi just over PVE and want to continue PVE only?

All the complaints about "being forced to PVP" would stop, the BHs would be sure to have targets, that want to be hunted?

This would be beneficial for all in the community, the actual gamesystem is the opposite, causing distress, hate tells and so on..

edit: of course there should be BHs for PVE-jedis, but that could be NPCs ^^

Yes, but Jedi, contrary to popular belief, is meant to be SPECIAL. Not just another PvE profession. The drawback to having Jedi is that you have to deal with hunters.

Not xp loss, just hunting. The reason for most of the Jedi moaning at the minute is that its quicker to group, get viz and take a few deaths because you can grind the xp back than it is to solo or avoid viz. Jedi's all believe that they have to get hunted, when they dont.

i agree on the point with the grouping, totally.

but if jedi would be special, there would not be that many...in fact, jedi isnt special anymore.

I am in a small guild, all PVE and roleplayers only, evryone has a jedi, some secondaries are in aurilia again....

So i see nothing special about jedi anymore.

That is a relict of old times, when becoming a jedi was a very long and hard way, grinding professions and so on.

Today i play PVE, get 200k FS-xp in appr. 1.5-2hours, do this a few times, wait for quests, am jedi.

Nothing special, really

so for the Bountyhunters....respeced or grinded wo respec after CU...its a joke to make the MBH compared to earlier times.

Theres nothing special anymore on both sides and thats why i think it would be fitting pretty good, to adapt the game-system to this fact.

The more jedis decide to refuse PVP, the more the GCW doesnt turn out in Jedi Wars Galaxies, where this game is actually going to. Besides that, it could also be called Jedi/BH-wars galaxies.

I can hardly believe, that the actual situation is intended and judged "nice" by Lucas Arts, but thats another chapter....

If Lucas knew half the crap going on in this game, he'd likely be rolling around crying like a baby at the Skywalker Ranch. This is not his image (it was at release when he was involved, but the Jedi are clearly a marketing ploy by SOE)

I think that if any modifications or fixes are to be made to this game its to make Jedi special again and bring back permadeath.

Jedi will get bored soon enough as it is then SOE's cash cow goes down the abbatoire

As much as I hate the tension between Jedi & BH, permadeath is a little harsh. I wouldn't want to spend 6 months (or these days, 6 days) reaching Jedi Knight only to lose it to an LD or something stupid like that. Mistakes happen, and I wouldn't want to put that kind of penalty on anyone - not even my prey.
