you should pm samous think url
this is crap, better hold off on the jedi hunting for a while...
I could be wrong, but I thought that the AB slice reduced your chance to be armor broken... Not reduced the damage taken while armor broken? Also, just curious if any foods were involved and did you notice that it was any harder for armor break to stick? I've fought jedi with and without AB sliced armor. I don't have any exact numbers but just based off of experience I still feel thatagainst an MLS AB slice is critical to success.
Did people just start noticing this recently? I haven't used an AB slice since pub 24 because those stupid shock absorbent padding is so hard to find.

You're right IMHO that AB shouldn't mean you take less damage, just less likely that AB sticks, but it also shouldn't mean you take MORE damage as his numbers indicate.
Also as someone above said... the AB slice is not damage mitigation it is more like an AB resistance buff... it gives you a better chance to resist armor break.
I probably should've read the other threads on this topic before I replied. Like I said, I havn't used an armor break slice since pub 24 since my AB armor is Recon and I'm only certed for Battle and Assault now.
I wonder if this was a silent nerf to the slice. Kinda like a penalty for reward type system similar to pup's. Sure, you get a less chance of being armor breaked, but at the cost of taking more damage when you are. What kind of numbers are being seen without being armor broke? Is itthe same damagebetween sliced armor and non-sliced or is the sliced armor still taking more. If that's the case then there's definately something wrong here.

no it isnt, it reduces your damage when armor broken, it doesnt reduce your chances of being armor broken.
You're correct I went back and checked on the Smuggler forum and it says at the hightest level you get a 75% reduction in damage from AB damage.
Either way it shouldn't cause attacks to damage you MORE than unsliced. I think we can agree on that right?
The impression I got was that an AB slice is a means of mitigating the attack. So a 75% AB Armor suit would get the added damage mitigated 75% of the time WHEN ARMORBROKE. Which in turn would reduce damage, but its not a constant. Just because you have AB sliced armor does not mean it will reduce your damage every attack.
Personally, I think this was intentional. From what I have been seeing lately is that BHs rely too much on their armor, as in waltzing up to a jedi and just standing there and tanking and healing off his damage. Thats ridiculous. Be a bounty hunter, not a brute squad.

Okay thats fine however, how do you explain the fact that with the slice the wearer of the armor takes MORE damage than an unsliced set.
I think thats the real issue.
