Thread: Charge Shot > Underhanded Shot?

I am MBH and am grinding my way up to Master Carbineer as well.

I found that Charge Shot successfully KDs my enemies much more often than Underhanded Shot, enough to where I macro'ed both, /underhandshot, then /chargeshot then watched my combat logs.

I found I was missing and having the KD resisted much more often with /underhandshot, that with /chargeshot. I left the macro in place using /chargeshot as a backup in case /underhandshot fails.

Also I fought some NPCs (just CL 70 pirates on Lok) but they were using /chargeshot on me, and KD my butt all over the place, much more than other NPCs types with other KDs (im CL 69 right now)

Am I wrng in thinking that /chargeshot would also be a better KD to use vs Jedi than /underhandedshot? Was wondering what otheres experiences with this are.

I, myself, have also always found Charge Shot to be better at hitting and sticking the KD...It also does more damage to.

Underhand Shot and Charge Shot both landed equally for me. I dropped my Charge shot line though, for stopping shot.

Charge shot does more damage than Underhand Shot.

everytime you successfully land a Knockdown on your opponent, there is a 30 second grace period before you can reapply Knockdown. (That means you can't knockdown once with Charge Shot, then 10 seconds later use it or Underhand shot again, it doesn't work)

My Underhand shot sticks 99.99% of the time.

yeah and with charge shot you throw your hand up in the air and charge your target. I love that!

A very simple, but insanely beautiful macro...I'm going to steal that and use it myself.

Hehe, there is one problem with it i can't work around. For instance if i have a pistol out charging my target, due to lag and the actual meter distance never really being correct i tend to hit underhand shot 2 or 3 times in a row until it fires off. That means that i'll be getting 3 /t's back, the first two ignore as they didn't land therefor my 30 seconds is NOT up yet, not until i get the 3rd message back. I would like to know how i make this "macro" (if you want to call it that) cancel the first two tells and only send me the last one. I've tried putting a /dump between every line but it doesn't work. So i'm back to remembering how many times i hit underhand shot before it landed.

Still, it is and has been far more effective than guessing, especially since underhand shot does so little damage. I hate to waste one because i was 2 seconds early, and i hate to miss using one when it was available.

I hope you like it though

I use a similar one myself, except I use the /echo command to replace the /tell

/echo KD available

Will show a system message that says:
KD available

Confirmed.

When during the respec period, I tried Pistoleer, Carbineer, and Rifleman out.

Charge Shot is way more successful than Underhand Shot.

"Way more successful" at what, exactly?
