Thread: Did the Empire really want *all* Jedi dead?
Sedriss was an enhanced human who studied the Dark Side of the Force under Emperor Palpatine, and was later appointed one of the reborn Emperor's Executors. Before turning to the Dark Side, Sedriss had been recruited by the Imperial military but turned down because of his insolence and lack of respect for authority. Palpatine, however, sensed the innate evil in Sedriss, and gave Sedriss the chance to kill him if he could. Sedriss failed utterly, but Palpatine demanded his complete loyalty or else he would be killed. Sedriss agreed to become Palpatine's agent, realizing that the Emperor was a true superior. He was a massive human with spiked hair, and was unfailingly loyal to Palpatine. Even after the Emperor's death at Endor, Sedriss journeyed to Byss to await his master's return. His loyalty was rewarded years later when he became the first Executor, and the leader of the Dark Side Elite. In this capacity, Sedriss was the primary force behind restoring the Empire via Operation Shadow Hand. He gave the orders that launched the operation following the reborn Emperor's death. When Palpatine ordered him to detain Luke Skywalker on Ossus, Sedriss and Vill Goir both flew there in the Imperial Hunter Scourge One. Unfortunately for Sedriss, the ancient Jedi Master Ood Bnar captured him and reduced Sedriss to microscopic bits in an explosion of colliding Force energies.

Ah the Expanded Universe. The supreme bastardization of the Star Wars Mythology. Don't forget the Star Wars Christmas Special....Uncle Itchy FTW
I've read alot of the expanded universe books and not only do most of them suck, they contradict each other. The newer ones are a little better at keeping up with canon BUT it's only entertainment.
Look at some of the other sources of Star Wars material. The old Marvel Comics, the cartoons, even the toys....what counts? George Lucas said the only true canon is the films, but he's not going to detour you from buying the books that make him even richer. Boba Fett died as far as George Lucas is concerned because you saw it happen in Return of the Jedi. He said "the fans brought him back, but he's dead"
What does that tell ya?
Actually, in more recent interviews Lucas has said he considered adding a scene to RoTJ for the DVD release that had Boba escaping the sarlacc. And if you want to deny the EU happened, then please, don't accept any EU material, don't pick and choose.

MARA JADE
HELLO!!!!!!
and wasnt they just force senstive not jedi

All of that is EU material and is not recognized as canon until Lucas writes it into script and its shown on film
EU material is considered "official" which is one step below canon. Might I remind you that Han and Leia getting married is also EU but no one seems to have any problem with that. Dathomir is EU. Talus, Tralus, Selonia, Drall, Lok, Kessel (as far as the Maw) are all EU as well. Again, don't pick and choose what you accept.
And, for future reference, the 'official' heirarchy of continuity is
Canon (Movies, Radio Drama, Screenplays)
Novels
Short Stories
Comics
Games

Yes I have the DVD that's where he said he thought about adding the scene but he didn't so he's still dead.
I don't accept any of the EU as canon. I read it when I was really bored and like I said it contradicts itself.

If you look at the OPs source list most of them are from games. Lowest man in the hierarchy. I even have some of those books.
To me "official" in this situation means we want you to buy it, but it's crap.

Good. Then Dathomir, Talus, and Lok bother you just as much as the Jedi profession does, right?
Well I wasn't so happy when I was able to kill 40 rancors in a row by myself But really contradiction and not directly mentioned are two different things.
A planet in the Corellia system is hardly contradicting to the films like 1000 Jedi running around unchecked.
Nathanielstarr wrote:
My only concern is that it's used in an arguement as to why every twerp should get a Jedi. It's ridiculous.
Lets just throw the canon out the window all the way and balance the game then. Make Jedi just another profession.
Hold on here! Where in that did I say any of that? This isnt to say that Jedi should be prominent, numerous, or anything. This is MERELY to show that the Empire did NOT want all Jedi dead and that the Emperor DID have several Dark Jedi in his employ and that that oft-quoted statement used to justify same-faction hunting is NOT true or applicable.
Don't jump to conclusions about my intent and we'll get along much better, you might even find we agree on most things ![]()
