I just made some 58s with my DE alt and was wondering what strategy you guys use with these. Seems you can't call them in battle which is what I was hoping to do. Do you use it in first strike or in the middle of duel hoping to incap with its blast. Any info will be appreciated.

first strike is pretty much the only way, make a macro for it so that when it blows, you can shoot off your highest damage specials hoping to incap the jedi before he even realizes he's under attack

if you are about to kd him and you have him maybe 3/4 health down you can get it to wrk, just make sure you have the bomb droid hidden behind a building or something

I always find em most useful in ambush first strike.....Since I am freelance and unattached to the GCW my droids always look white. I never name em so they always just have an innocuous title like An R2 Unit...
I used to leave them somewhere where the jedi is going to go, mission or ticket terms are good... You can juggle things sometimes so the droid is hidden by the term....I have used mouse droids (less damage) under mission terms and R3 in ticket terms....
I then put myself somewhere discreet like the nearest public building or cover somewhere nearby if you are rifle man....If you set the timer and hit a knockdown attack at 2 seconds then you maximize damage...

I've yet to use one in combat and let me explain why (within this rant is a tip, trust me)
When your DE is making these bombs, please... don't name them UBER JEDI BOMBER or MOUSE OF BOOM! It really does take the surprise element away. This is why I haven't used a bomb droid yet. When I get some extra credits though Im going to haveask a DE to do arun for me with just a generic type droid name.
(and I know that you can rename your droids, but last I knew once you pulled out a bomb droid and then stored it you would break the bomb ffunction)

Do you have an example of the macro? I was thinking of putting the droid on follow then KD'ing the jedi and then snare (no root)

I managed to use one for my first kill, went very well. I saw my mark was heading back into the townI was in, soI took my helmet off, gun away, and ran aroundthis jedi-padi grinding town acting like i was trying to train a stupid med-droid (one nice part of a new toon is that a lot of people will look at the bio and go 'ahh, stupid noob' and promptly ignore me, i'll trade passing respect from others i won't meet in real life for times like this anyday). I have a med-droid that looks almost identical to the bomb droids i use, so i just swapped it out when the time was right. So when the jedi started their ritual /hug/lick/grope crap, i drug it over by them with the timer going, threw on my gear, managed to get perfect timing on the knockdown right after the bomb, 4 shots and my pvp rating finally got back over 1200. The droids arent easy to use, but they shouldnt be, make it almost too easy.

I dont bother with bomb droids , I only use combat droids, they are very useful if your target goes into water , which a lot of mine seem to do, i got one about 2 days ago, my driod incapped him in the middle of the water when he was trying to get away, and i just /deathblow. 226k sweet lol

isnt it very easy for the jedi to destroy +35% healing droids, i mean just a simple hit and your back to normal healing... or maybe you can have it far away? whats the range limit for them towork?
