Its random. Plain and simple. If you don't get the uber loot, its a run of bad luck. Nothing more, nothing less. Doing anything in any certain way WILL NOT increase your chances of getting better loot. Taking certain missions will not increase your chance of getting better loot.
Can we get this stickied lol!

if i dance the macarena counter-clockwise every 3rd mission, i only get the uber phat l00tZ!
it also helps to hunt marks in only your underware. i got a +40 tape of meatwad king finding like that

Thanks for the post...but i doubt that ppl will understand....ohh...btw...every 13-14th mission of mine is a boss mark...coincident ?...

actually I have found if I wear no armor while fighting bosses w/ 35k or better ham to work wonders. generally get slice comp and two sea's this way, try it and post how it works for you.

I usually refresh the terminal 1000 times, then take the first mission in the first spot on the list, that has a reward of 31069! This always gets me the warm hat.
500 warm hats to date!!

but have you looted one the meatlump king warm hats?
the one i got is +20 ranged / melee def / gen ranged speed
but it's purple. so im still hunting a green one to match my skin...

Damn I get one SEA and foraged bugs when I try this, is that because of my TK innate?

No, I found that by having a smuggler I can get better loot drops. Then when I see the mark, I have to have the smuggler talk to the npc and use his underword skills to "convince" him that he has good loot. This works with ANY npc target.
I've looted 5 full sets of BH armor from Black Sunners, 2 full sets of Mandolorian armor from Death Watchers, The lightsaber from Necrosis, Death Vader's helmet, and Han Solo's pants. Really works great!
