Thread: How to stop house sitting jedi

Make it so that when some one spends say 30min or an hour in a house they will get logged out.


like a pop up window with like 6 random numbers and you have to type it to stay logged in.


This is how i see the best way of doing it since you have to be there to stay logged in and if you are really doing something then you wont have a problem wanting to stay logged in.


and the afkers will get the boot.


but then there are the jedi that run into a house after seeing a bh well that just means the jedi got away. Some times you just have to man up and take it that the mark was quicker. There are always ways to get away. places that a bh wouldnt go because its to dangeous.


I have another idea place oen hiding place on each planet and if the jedi gets there first the bh could come in after him/her but it would be filled with other npc jedi or FS npc's. While this is a bit of a stretch and morethen likely has a lot of problems and probebly would just make more. Thats actually not a good idea. but at least you'd be able to go in after them if you had the.. oh lets say....spheres.


Any whoo the timer and popup for afker's in a house is really the only way to stop the jedi from ticking people off. and it'd have to be made so that a stupid third party program cant set the code for the afker.

Edit: oh edit for another idea make it for bounty only characters so that crafters dont get the fat end of this stick too. Gotta look after the crafting buddies.

I'll agree it's on the right course, but minor corrections. I've spent over an hour before crafting lightsabers inside, so it would need some adjustments. But it does seem like a way to get the afk macro Jedi off the terminals.

It has been stated before that the problem could be solved by removing recurring macros. Currently AFK house-sitters run looping macros to avoid being disconnected from the server and logged out. If you remove the ability to loop a macro then you will eliminate a large amount of AFK house sitting Jedi. This wouldn't harm those Jedi that are actually in their house DOING something while it would remove those who sit AFK in a house all day long.

I can see it now.. just like the annoying respec window that pops up every 5 minutes, but this takes more to get rid of. Many of times, I sit in my house because it is a safe place and I have nothing to do but... well lets see, read mails and manage my guild. I honestly understand the Bounty Hunter's fustration when this happens (I was after a MBH for a long time back in 2003 as well as maintained a BH alt before even becoming jedi). I do however feel that many newer hunters expect a quick ride up and attack fight.. use the 3 days you have and try to catch them or drop the mission if you are impatient. I would hate to see a profession singled out (or all professions penalized) with something like this. Just imagine, your crafting in your house.. your baby screams and needs attention.. your child is more important then a game, but you don't wanna be penalized or even booted from the game to take care of a higher real life priority.


BTW, I feel if a jedi is house sitting.. a bounty hunter has done his/her job and reduced the ammount of visible jedi.

I think this is going mainly to those using macros to stay on constantly...

Err, If you don't have a macro going that keeps you logged in then you do get booted after you sit so long with no activity. So its not us wanting you to not do it, Its the people who made the game.

i have the best idea for staying in a house.. it involved a droid / pet



make it patrol around your house and then follow it, no macros and ur moving lol DO u get booted if ur moving? ^_^

Or you couldjust click disconnect then while you are away doing whatever pretend your toon is sitting in his/her homemoving a painting up and down over and over again.

what about people who are busy indoors crafting? I've spent hours just crafting various items. Crafters get another grief why not I guess.

i dont see the big problem with house sitters, its up to the jedi whether you fight or not, not us the BH's.


if you get a house sitter ( i must get 3 or 4 a day) then simply move onto your next mark, its not hard.


but id agree to track them for 10 minutes to various planets, then to catch up to them to find them in a house is annoying, but move on to your next targt, there is enough jedi on every server for the BH to get atleast 1 fight every 3 marks or so

well. you are never going to get them out of their house. its never going to happen. these threads are as far as they go.


what you may get is a response from a droid that says if they are afk or no or in a private structure or no. thats it. sorry.

Why do you guys care? If I want to sit in my house AFK and pay 15$ a month for it, I HAVE EVERY right too, you can't make me log out if thats what I want to do.
