Thread: How to stop house sitting jedi
MorganKnight wrote:Why do you guys care? If I want to sit in my house AFK and pay 15$ a month for it, I HAVE EVERY right too, you can't make me log out if thats what I want to do.
As I read this, I imagined a Jedi jumping up and down, flailing his tiny fists at the sky.

Make it so that when some one spends say 30min or an hour in a house they will get logged out.
like a pop up window with like 6 random numbers and you have to type it to stay logged in.
This is how i see the best way of doing it since you have to be there to stay logged in and if you are really doing something then you wont have a problem wanting to stay logged in.
and the afkers will get the boot.
but then there are the jedi that run into a house after seeing a bh well that just means the jedi got away. Some times you just have to man up and take it that the mark was quicker. There are always ways to get away. places that a bh wouldnt go because its to dangeous.
I have another idea place oen hiding place on each planet and if the jedi gets there first the bh could come in after him/her but it would be filled with other npc jedi or FS npc's. While this is a bit of a stretch and morethen likely has a lot of problems and probebly would just make more. Thats actually not a good idea. but at least you'd be able to go in after them if you had the.. oh lets say....spheres.
Any whoo the timer and popup for afker's in a house is really the only way to stop the jedi from ticking people off. and it'd have to be made so that a stupid third party program cant set the code for the afker.
my 2 cents
Edit: oh edit for another idea make it for bounty only characters so that crafters dont get the fat end of this stick too. Gotta look after the crafting buddies.

well. you are never going to get them out of their house. its never going to happen. these threads are as far as they go.
what you may get is a response from a droid that says if they are afk or no or in a private structure or no. thats it. sorry.

It has been stated before that the problem could be solved by removing recurring macros. Currently AFK house-sitters run looping macros to avoid being disconnected from the server and logged out. If you remove the ability to loop a macro then you will eliminate a large amount of AFK house sitting Jedi. This wouldn't harm those Jedi that are actually in their house DOING something while it would remove those who sit AFK in a house all day long.
I dont think it would help much. With copy&paste I can easily make a macro that runs for a week.

thats a Stupid A$$ Idea. Personally I fight my fights, unless Im getting jumped.
But other then that... If im sitting in my house re-aranging, or just taking a break, with out having to completely Close Down SWG all together, I dont want to have to be sitting there typing some lame @ss code.
As a Bounty Hunter, learn to deal with it. Be proud that you either scared the crap out of someone enough to where they wont come out of their house, or just go on with your great SWG life and go get another mission. You dont get to hunt jedi by name anymore, so your chances are just as good with 1 as with any other. Or if your really must... wait it out. You have 3 days correct? If you find someone you hate so much just go after them on another day.
Dirty Bounty Hunters! Find something more constructive to cry about.
Yes typing in a code every 30 minutes is really taxing isn't it? And if you're gonna do something else for more than half an hour what's the big deal with simply logging?

Yay! lets kick some crafters in the*(, not being able to be afk would hurt many others then jedi....
if you actually read my post then you would have seen that it would only apply to bounties. aka people on the terminals i dont know many crafters that are on the terminals.
As for the guy that pays 15$ a month to just sit in a house you can do it as long as your at the keyboard while youre doing it. actually playing the game. I thing that the tosa had something to say about akfer's any ways but i cant remember.
You can't even stop AFK'ers..... If you remove the possiblity of macro's calling themselves to repeat, then they will use the tool bar method. If you remove that method, then they will use 3rd party software to "tap" a button oncea minute to stay online. It simply cannot be stopped.
Unfortunately, we'll just have to deal with it. But by ignoring the rest of the community, and focusing soley on Jedi, this ignores what will happen.
If recursive macro's ARE removed, this will affect cafters, for reasons stated. Entertainers will be a thing of the past, since there is no benefit to having them be AT the keyboard now, it would be foolish to think most of the will sit at the keyboard dancing all day (while SOME do... most do not). AFK buffers at spaceports will be gone. And the last, which I can agree with.... Spammers will go. I hate loading into theed or MOP to find 20 people spamming.... just annoying, and not immersive to me.
Read the SECOND part of my statement. you know...the OR part. Adress all. not half
this isnt for getting people out of the house this will kickpeoplethat are actually afk. and the pop up would workwith random numbers so they have to type it out

I'd like a droid response that says "You're target is inside a private structure" and gives you the location. Probably the fairest of all the "fixes" for this "issue", if you can call either.
