I want to respec my main to a supporting class for my weaponsmith, so I was thinking master bh master cm and 3000 marksman, for bh weapon part loot. My main unfortunately has 24 points tied up in fs, so i can't do something like 0004 pistoleer. My question is: which of these 2 are better:

MBH MCM, 3000 marksman, or MBH, MR, and 0300 medic. My weapon will always be an advanced laser rifle. I was hoping to make a character who could also do well in geonosian cave. atm im a MR MCM and can solo most things.

For PvE (fighting NPCs exclusively), I strongly recommend the mBH/mCM combination. BH has enough damaging abilities, and CM's debuffs and heals will keep you alive forever.

Well, I'm a MBH, MCH, with startleshot and cover in rifleman and some FS boxes and NPC marks are very doable for me, with Ruby and Stim-Ds, so either of your proposed templates should do fine against NPC marks. As for the caves, no idea, never been.

True, Narf, both will work fine. However, I find that CM'srarely even need Stims nor Ruby Bliel to take down boss marks with 30k+ health.

I'm a MBH, MR and CM 4000, and PvE is a cakewalk. Throw on my cyber arm for +10 range and I can get a mob down to 1/4 health without taking damage. I'm actually considering switching to MBH, MR, pistols 0003, just because PvE BH missions are not even a challenge.

I'd have to say with DS running and crappy armor, either should do fine. A MCM build might take a little longer b/c of the decreased accuracy/speed, but the healing power will keep you alive.

In my experience Med xx2x is all you need. Keep in mind that NPC marks are stationary, so you could call a +110 med droid (hide him behind a tree so he doesn't die) to boost your heals over 1000. This way you can have both the damage of MR and the heals of MCM.

Oh, and don't forget to use startle shot before you heal. Otherwise you'll just be fighting an uphill battle against his damage.

Good points, though I have yet to see Startle shot or Disarming shot have any affect on NPCs.

i wouldnt even go for the full MCM .. id take thyroid rupture and the heals .. reconfigure the rest in other areas for roots and snares and defense... the debuffs aside from thyroid rupture and shock are worthless in PVE ... ( ie: traumatize and hemmorage) and the health dots arent that great if you could be stacking accuracy and use an uber wep ... ( after all you dont want to have to make up in accuracy by buying CA's and AA's because i sense your holding onto your FS in hopes of grinding that toon to jedi one day)

just mho

I have never had a problem with /startleshot on NPC marks, except of course when I forget to take autoattack off.

The only use for roots and snares in NPC bounty missions is to make them switch to a ranged weapon instead of melee, which in my opinion is hardly worth the skillpoints.

possibly but NPC's arent the only viable loot .. i have been making most of my money lately off GDK scales and pearls ..and these abilities are greatly valuable for such endeavors...as well as night sisters .. necrosis ect...

I would go MBH MRM, Between conceal shot and sniper shot you can get your mark down to half health before he even makes a move for you..

MBH, Master Rifles, 0003 Pistoleer, and 0020 medic will rock your socks off. The only trick to it is finding a super sweet rifle to use, but if you can get one it's a pve machine.
