Thread: A question for bh's who only do missions and don't pvp

I thought you only need Investigation 4 to get the CL80+ marks and bosses? MBH is only for Jedi hunting? If that is the case then why bother with MCM or MBH?


Take the BH 4000 and CM 4000 for the NPC missions and high heals and then put the rest into a tank/damage melee class, especially if you plan on doing PvE close quarters NPC's like the Geo cave. The BH NPCs are handled just as well by melee or ranged. I imagine the devs are soon going to fix the crazy regen rates of marks as there is extensive testing going on related to that and CM debuffs and DOTS will not be a neccessity to defeat them.


I have been to the Geo cave as a MBH/MCM with mixed pistols and although you can heal for a while, you still take a lot of damage, wear and tear on your armor and if you get mobbed by more than 2 of the higher CL's in there it's a losing fight.

Just a quick shout out for MBH/MCH types. im having no trouble beating the silver marks, and the gold marks just make me eat food to win.


Oh and by the way, Holding a LS and swinging it madly does NOT make you a Jedi. Got to be confirmed by the council ya know.

Agreed, but based on the description I do not think Strartle Shot and/or Disarming Shot are suppose to break on Damage. All the specials that break on Damage state so, these do not. They are suppose to be 5 seconds dazes that should not break on damage. At least that is how they are described and I understand it.

Thanks for all the advice!


Some additional info: I won't be grinding this into a jedi. i have my 24 points in fs tied up because of the free slot i unlocked (my weaponsmith who's template i can't change).


So it seems the MOST i can be is 2 masters plus 3 boxes in a basic novice line, like 0300 medic, or 3000 marksman. Ive tried all sorts of test templates on the chracter builder programs but i don't hit combat level 80 unless i master 2 professions, so taking part rifle, part cm and mbh doens't work, it has to be 2 masters plus 3 boxes in a basic novice line.


atm being a mr mcm, i can solo tons of things. I use paralyze a lot on krayts. I don't know if a BH boss is someone i can get close enuf to paralyzeand debuff, or whether he is a ranged fighter in which case I guess mcm is mainly used for heals? I do like the conceal and startle shot ofMasterrifles, and i currently have cyber arms for extra range...however, I'm worried that if i go MBH, MR and 0300 basic medic, my heals won't be good enuf ( i think i'll only have the very lowest heal only and only one type). If i go MBH MCM, will my damage output be quite weak compared to that of MBH MR (and i can't sneak up and shoot away I take it). I am really really nervous about respecing becausein the past i have experienced converting to a different profession that didn't end up being like i hoped it would be.

mbh, mp, mm, 3xxx rifleman. my build.


low health mobs i wear 6kenergyresist armor with psg. sometimes you get guys with kinetic pistols so i might heal 2 times with them. i start with root and use rifle. then switch to pistol and beat them down.


30k health mobs i just wear 8k energy resist armor same thing. with these guys i will heal3 times, and maybe run them in circles. unless they are using a t21 then i go in close. most i can stand there and live with only a couple of heals.


i use 1k plus stim d's. i use neutron pixie. canape, range def drink. breath of heaven. crispic.


fun for me and i am slowly building up stuff to use. got nice cells casings ca's and aa's.

Im a MBH/MCH/CM 4xxx with a kick ass lvl 70 pet. When doin boss marks I may have to think a bit, but not much. Regular marks, I can let the pet do the work and just heal it while never gettin hit. While it takes longer its a change of pace. If I actually fight regular marks with my pet and me, fight lasts 15 seconds tops. Also if u do chose CH and decide to fight jedi, do not use 3 lvl 23 pets, use 1 lvl 70 pet. CH in PvP is very different from CH in PvE.

im a mcm mbh, and i have never used a stim yet. ive only had one mark incap me out of 100+, and that was when i was still grinding and was only cl 70ish and the guy was 5 level above me.

get a psg, a good capped gun and paralyze, debuff, dot, kite.

too damn easy

In my personal opinion, I like master bounty hunter and master swordsman with 8K resist assault armor and forcing the NPC into melee and from there on you would have no problems and the heals are still adequet at 0020 medic and if it gets hairy then popping in a +40 healing efficiency citris snow cake. Master combat medic in my view is a waste just for NPC missions but that is just me.

Given what you have said, go:

MBH, MRifles, Medic 0030


Once you get good with the template you will never have a mark get close enough to even hit him with CM poo. In fact most of the marks I go up against never even hit me. Even if you don't cover/conceal shot you'll still be able to stand toe to toe and outheal the mark (although it will take longer). This template does lose a little going indoors (especially without a root), so it will be tricky to solo the cave I think, but in a group you'll be great.

Have you not noticed that when you are hit by an NPC with Disarming Shot or Startle Shot it is based on time but when you hit an NPC with one it breaks on Damage (not time).


It bugged.
