Thread: My thoughts on the CU considering PVP
This is getting old very quickly, my longest fight against a Jedi was close to 60 minutes favoring on my victory (armor lost roughly 30K condition), another one that ended in a draw after 20+ minutes, another lasting 30+ minutes. As a growing number of BHs with a suit of armor sliced for armorbreak reduction, damage/speed sliced double-capped weapons, ultimate food/spice combo, instant stims and very commonly the FOTM template vs growing number of Jedi with weak lightsabers, ultimate food/spice combo, limited force, delayed heals, and inability to run into a building. In my view, Jedi is gradually getting weaker by the day, resulting in most fights getting longer and longer.
What is wrong with this? This was what the balance is in the devs mind?
I really really miss the old system, I really do.

Last 3 or 4 marks had very identical templates, all with improved force armor, improved force aura and/or valor, it's getting very popular and the best I can do against force armor+force aura is about 200, and if I throw in advanced aim & pyro, about 350 which is practically laughable. Last mark I went to I saw was running armor, aura and valor and I turned around and left saying "screw this". Thing is, most of them has weaker lightsabers than pre-CU guys, which can't hurt me much, and I can't hurt them much either due to their defensive template.
The easy fix to this would be to make dabbler jedi less powerful. A double masrtery should have a better advantage over a person that dabbles in defender and enhancer.
ok for 1 thing Jedi is ment to be a uber prof,
like what it said a while back that a templated padawan should be like 1.5 times stronger than a fully templated non jedi fighter, and so on. so if u say jedi r to strong its becuase they r ment to be this way, people r saying there to over powered, why should we not. its a Elite profession and bh should not be able to kill jedi 24/7. so when i see bh complaining its really stupid no flames intended and im not syaing ur complaining but jedi r met to be more powerful and with this pearl/crystal nerf its pratically bh won already with grinding pads

uber prof? I am so confused at this post. Why is it people need to chop off <1second by typing r instead of are? A padawan should be 1.5 times stronger than a dude that in Real life would probably have 15 years more experience than the young padawan? Yeah... ok... I am still confused...

I dont understand your thoughts on this.
Someone that is a master defender/master lightsaber, are definitely better than people that dabble in defender and lightsaber.
The ONLY advantage that a dabbler has over a double mastery, is that the dabbler gets more skills that are different. I am MLS, and I dont know ANYONE that just dabbles in lightsabers that have a direct advantage over me.
I dabble in Defender, but I dont know ANY Master defender that has less defense than me.
The advantage that a double mastery has over EVERY dabbler, is they get more force and more force regen. Why should a Master Defender/Master Lightsaber be a better escape artist than someone that dabbles with powers/enhancer?? They shouldnt
You pick your template the way that YOU want to play the game. If you want to be a tank/damage dealer, you will go MDef/MLS. If you want to tank but also be able to channel force, heal yourself, have cloak, and only want one line of lightsaber, then you will be MDef/Dabbler. Its pure and simple.
Let me give you an example. In baseball, you have power pitchers and you have finesse pitchers. MOST power pitchers only have 1 or 2 pitches that they are really good at, while a finesse pitcher may have 4 or 5 pitches to choose from. A power pitcher usually gets a lot of strikeouts while they are in the game, where a finesse pitcher usually relies on groundballs and flyouts in order to get through the game. Which one is better? Neither of them are. They just have different ways of accomplishing their task.
Think about what you said and then remember SOE history. For too long now, they have made EASY fixes to alot of the professions in the game. Name ONE easy fix that actually worked out for the best. I am sure you will find some, but then also take a look at what kind of impact it made on the game. I will almost guarantee that while there may have been easy fixes for the betterment of the game, they were so small that most people dont even realize they are there.
If you feel cheated, then maybe redefine your role in the GCW. Make changes to your template that will make you feel better about the game. There is absolutely NO dabbler template that is better than a double mastery. We choose to play the game the way that we want to. Thats what is suppose to make this game one of the best online games, its called DIVERSITY.

2 reasons that I see cause this (I'm a pre-CU Jedi myself):
Most new Jedi grind entirely afk or in spin groups, requiring no thinking or skill on their part aside from getting 1 hit in and healing themselves, unlike the pre-CU Jedi who were forced to grind solo and learn the most effective way to use their templates.
Bluntly, new Jedi suck because they did the cheap and easy grind and didn't learn their templates, combined with lesser quality pearl drops and tuning. My saber is better than most, but nothing amazing so I have no advantage in PvP, yet I drop almost every newly-full-templated Jedi in 5-6 hits. Almost every time they ask me what I did to kill them so quickly. They just don't know anything about using their templates.
Secondly, remember that as a BH (I also have a MBH alt I play more than my Knight now), you KNOW you're going in with a disadvantage, so you take every precaution possible by using the best weapons, foods, and tactics. Most Jedi, on the other hand, have an advantage and many times over-estimate their abilities and don't use the best foods, etc. I think that if a Jedi used every possible advantage at the start of a fight like many MBH's do, Jedi would become much more challenging overall.
first of all...PvE and PvP are way differnt. killing a bol or somthing is so much differnt then killing a Bounty Hunter or a Jedi. new jedi do the spin group cause its impossable to grind solo anymore, and in all fairness, not only jedi are doing the area attack thing, i seen plenty of Riflemen and others doing it for the Experiance too. my two cents
i did half my template pre cu and finished it post cu. PvE and PvP are two different worlds and the Cu combat changes negate the so called experience in using your template because things changed drastically with the cu.
Some people will never be good at PvP because they just don't care to be or lack the basic gaming skills- this applies to everyone not just jedi.

ok i was typing abit to fast and maybe should type correctly and use are instead of r. was just saying that a fully templated jedi should not be able to be killed by a full templated bh thats all.
Ah yes, the great jedi argument. BH should only be able to fight us 1 on 1, but a single bh shouldn't be able to beat us.

Why is that? I have never heard a good argument. BesidesI could also make the argument that there should only be a FEW fully templatedJedi. I mean seriously... you want this, we need to go back to the time when you would lose all of your powers when you died.

Ive ground 2+ million xp solo post CU. I did 1 million of it over 3 days as a half-template (respec'd around try try new temps and forgot to choose another master and got stuck with 4344 LS and 4000 Healer and 0004 Enhancer). Don't tell me solo grinding isnt possible.
