Thread: How do you deal with a Cloaker?

Last mission I just did showed my target in town. I eat some food, shuttle there, and he is standing right there. I immediately attack and actually did ok this fight. Had him Knocked Down a few times and was putting the hurt on. Suddenly he was gone. the waypoint showed him last next to a house so I figured he had ran inside. I go next to the house to take a look when suddenly he appeared right in front of me. Yep, Cloak'd. The fight turned into him tossing that LightSaber like it was a boomerang. He quickly took me out after that.

How do you deal with someone that cloaks?

I guess I should have made the point more clear.

Is there a way to get a Jedi to uncloak? Any techniques? Or do you just stand there and wait for him to appear?

Well from what i understand cloak can take alot of force out of them so if their are aot of players round you can try to wait them out.. seems /target doesn't work anymore when they are cloaked... i havnt found a way around these damn cloakers yet

A Jedi will uncloak if he runs out of Force. The more players / NPCs are close to the Jedi, the more Force is drained to upkeep Cloak. Probably youre better off preventing him from cloaking in the first place.

Good point Eskie. I had him on the run, but was trying to keep some distance. He ended up ducking behind a house and running. I followed as best I could until he Cloaked.

If you are in a guild, simply call all your buddies over. The more people within 20m of the jedi, the more force he uses keepingcloak up. I'm the leader of a bh guild and we called in 8 other players one time. To do this though you'll need to drop like 4-6 seekers running track in a row in about 3 second inters so you keep a constant track on his location at all timesgiving you the ability tokeep the entire group (all on bikes) slightly ahead of him to keep within 20m. This works, but is really way to much planning to killone Jedi. You best bet is to simply drop the missionthe first time he cloaks andleave.

Cant you also just do a /target (players name) after he cloaks? NVM addressed a couple of posts up!! Didnt see that. Its a shame it doesnt work anymore.

We had a guy attacking our bases and leaving cloaked when the guildies came to town. Just did a /target (players name) follow and attack.

I had a very eventful fight with a cloaker yesterday. to his credit, we actually fought for about 30 mins. Just make sure that your seeker keeps reporting his location and stay out of range, but close enough that you can attack when he uncloaks.

My fight, I had to do a runner after about 10 minsto regen my mind pool, but only about 200m, launched another seeker and My mark was in same place so slowly, i crept back. He uncloaked and we went at it again for around 10 mins when i almost drained his force and he done a runner.. to regenerate.

My food/spice was just about to run out by now, so i moved out of range, ate my stuff and launched another seeker, my mark, who decided to stay and fight was cloaked, but he was moving towards me, i kept backing away so he stayed just in rifle range, ten he uncloaked and i hit him hard with my rifle, i decided not to kite and let him move in.... paralyze, ED, then fire dot.. burstrun out to 40 m and hit him with proton carb.

let him move in again and switched to my decent scatter, 1119 max dam(pup) and capped on sac and speed. He used choke throughout and almost got me into a healing cycle... was a pretty close run thing but managed to drain his force and incap...waited what seemed like an eternity for DB timer and finally.... <insert name> is no more blah blah blah...bounty hunter guild pay you a bonus of blah blah blah.. 226k has been credited to your account.

This hunt was by far the most enjoyable of all the hunts i've been on. I'm by no means an expert at Jedi hunting, i've only been hunting for around 5 months and am still learning my trade and getting to grips with my new template(used to be a Mcarbines/MBH and MBH/MP) I love being CM now, in fact, i don't think i could ever drop it, but i do miss the heavy damage i could get with my carbines and pistolsbut have much to learn, this particular Jedi decided not to run and fight and i respected him immensely for that.

Would love to hear from fellow MCM/MBH with tactics used against Jedi, i have around a 50% win/loss ratio but really think i ought to be doing better with this template. Some jedi just seem to hand me my butt all too quickly no matter what tactics i use, others, i seem to handle pretty well, and they really could go either way.

Lastly,to some of the Jedi that do kick my butt into next week, why you gotta smack talk??? just get on with the game and stop mouthing it... try PvP with a 'normal' eliteprofession and lets see how good you really are

Cloaker, I think I just gonne drop those missions

Found my mark on Lok, he was grinding some new bhranches with a group off jerdeye, probably some heavy aoe going on.

So they immediatelly surround me waiting for me to point out my mark, and as I do this with a sense off humor I was entertaining them until he uncloaked.

This was a confident fella, didn't expect me to be much troubble, but I was even with him. Then he suddenly force runs away and cloaks. The jedi surrounding me actually stopped "noobing" me as they figured I actually had some moves.

Then they gather arround in a circle and I see Jedi powers working hard, mind this was several knights and a Guardian. Now I get a tell from my mark saying, Eh, I ran out off force! So he is standing in the middle off the circle and these jedi "refuels" him!!!

Full on force he comes back and spawns in front off me, kd! But I do the same to him as soon as I'm up and here we go again. Fight, fight fight until he force runs away and again is fuelled by the audience.

Now these Jedi seem annoyed he is not able to finnish me off, so one actually walks up to me and asks me to leave! I ask why and she tells me I'm holding them up from their grind, they are loosing time!!! Unbelieveable!

I figured this fella has both force run 3 and cloak, so he is able to escape me if he wants to. All I am able to acomplish is he tearing my armor apart, so I tell him I'm dropping the mission. Was very close not to as this bigmouthed jedi girl provoked me massivly.

So, the only way I can think off is a CM fire dot or something that keeps ticking even if he cloaks, I don't have such skills, so the next Jedi I find doing cloak and force run I'm not gonna bother!

I've heard that using bomb droids will pull them out of cloak, if you can get them to remain still for long enough. Also, I've heard, but never seen, that if you have a house sitter who is close enough to were you plant a bomb droid, that will yank him outside as well. The second one seems kinda like an exploit, so use that with caution. Also, I've never used either one and don't know if they work.
