Thread: Force Powers!?
And if the Jedi doesn't want to fight? They should be made to? What about the non fighitng Jedi? The ones that just want to "help" people? What about them? do you think it's fair to force the issue with a Jedi?
I see both sides of the coin here though. The most popular answer will be "they knew the risks when they got Jedi, they knew they'd be hunted"
I just don't understand the argument. Free ticket out of a fight? We have the same free ticket. It's called: Drop Mission, Root, Pull Bike (no delay now) and run like mad for 2.5 minutes to lose the BH tef.
And BTW.... /cover is a GREAT tactic. I've used it in reverse of the jedi cloaking on me. I will root them, run out to 70m or so, behind a house or whatnot and hit /cover then crawl back within range of them. It works a heck of a lot better for you if you have +25 crawl speed like me, but it can work for anyone.

If a Jedi runs from me, that's fine. Their job is to run, my job is to kill them. You want EVERY Jedi to standstill and fight, right? This sounds like the same argument a Jedi will give me when I "kite" him the entire fight, never letting him get within range. It's a tactic, not an unbalanced exploit. They say "Damn, if'd you'd stand still and fight like a man, I'll kill you" I know that's true... that's WHY I DON'T DO IT.
There is nopoint in "going out shooting", so to speak, and I will be the first to admit that I run from fights from time to time, when I sense that it's not going well, and I'm going to die. I will absolutley drop mission, root them, hop on the bike and jet to the closest "safe" place, like a lake, house, shuttleport, etc.
And BTW, if they ever install a system like the FRS for Bounty Hunters where you would gain "visibility" from other BH's for failing missions, you'd have a back-up plan to. Especially if YOU lost expereince and skill boxes for getting killed like they do.
Hey thats fine with me, just make it fair and make my BH 1.5times stronger than the hunter and its all good. You jedi forget that your template is straight up stronger then us.
Jedi are 1.5 times stronger, I think for two main reasons.... they actually LOSE something when we kill them and they are supposed to be according to Star Wars lore. That I have no problems with. The problem I have is that the BH community (on average) complains constantly that Jedi exploit, they are too strong, they are this, they do that, etc... .exploit, nerf, nerf, nerf, you know? The BH's who complain the MOST are the new ones who haven't fully learned the craft yet, and that's ok to a degree, they will learn, from the older more expereinced hunters how to get the job done.
What I'm most upset with in this whole "fight" is that ANYTHING that we try the Jedi cry "exploit", and ANYTHING that the Jedi have, the BH's cry "overbalanced." For instance... do we REALLY need 10 posts a day about how Jedi "exploit" the cloak issue? Do we need another set of posts about how Jedi will run away and hide in houses?Or the LOS exploit? Duel Exploit, etc.... I know this isfree community and we can post what we want, but MAN, it makes me not want to read the boards anymore.
This community board was (I think) intended for us to share ideas, ask questions, and be intelligent. Not to sit around b|tching (for lack of better term) about how much our opponents exploited, or cheated, or otherwise played "unfairly" and what we THINK the developers need to do about it. The reason that the developers RARELY post here or on any forum for that matter is because I've seen a gross lack of intelligent thought involved. It's always "what's best for me, is best for the community, so take away Jedi cloaking", etc.
A better focus posting on the issue would be more along the lines of "Jedi cloaking is annoying at times, but is it overbalanced?" or "Jedi seem to be running away instead of fighting and hiding in a private structures. Have the developers addressed this issue, or are they aware of it?" The VAST majority of the posts I've seen concerning these 2 topics consist of: "devs need to nerf jedi hiding in houses because it sucks for me" or "devs need to nerf cloaking because it sucks for me"
Credits be fore honor, if they run i chase them with my droids, and then i send a tell almost like this: "Ill stop chasing you and cancel your missionif you tip me 200k." and most of the time that works lol.
Credits before honor.

We should be able to kill any a$$hole out there for the right price... jedi or no jedi. If they want to run, cloak, or whatever to stay alive then let them try. It's our job to pursue. How many marks do you think just stood there and tried to fight Boba Fett? Not many!
I would LOVE to be able to hunt anyone out there. I doubt it will EVER happen as the possibility of endless griefing will be VERY HIGH with such a system. I've been pushing for a system whereby ANY player would be elligible for a "mark" including BH's. This would actually USE the factional point system in place now. Imagine this: You have +5000 Jabba faction because you ran his themepark, like killing Valarians, whatever. Everything is great, because Jabba likes you. As you start losing Jabba faction, by either failing his missions (added content) killing his npcs, etc you'd eventually go negative. At some point, maybe say -2500 faction you would appear on the terminals for a certain price. The price could be dictated by your negative standing (ie more money for more negativity), or currrent CL, your current pvp rating, etc. This would work with ANY of the what seems over 100 factions in the game.
No fair you say? No fair that ANYONE would be elligible for a BH hit? No sweat, add in a covert/overt system like we currently have now. You could either chosse to "enable"or "disable"what I callFactional Bounty Hunting. This would allow ANY player who wanted to participate to do so, while others could "opt out". Also, to make it MORE worthwhile, there could easily be rewards for the participating (hunted) members.
The system would use the existing BH terminals and SpyNet operatives, and add even incorporate an instance where smugglers could slice the terminal to see who was on it (making them more useful again) and what their current level on the terminal was.
