Both are effective if used properly. Melee is probably just easier.

Melee if you want easy kills and ranged if you want a challenge.

I am having a super hard time deciding whether to be a Ranged profesion with MCH or a Melee.

If i was going to do ranged it would be rifleman and the melee profession would be either TKM or Swordsman

what do u guys think?

I personally enjoy MPike myself, but I would say If I didnt love it so much Rifles all the way you can deal more damage while your pets tank

ya well i think i have decided on TKM/MCH; although i cant dish out damage like the other professions can, i can tank very well while my pets and I attempt to kill the target.

Besides i hate armor.

Just come back to game after a long absence, was wondering if I am working towards becoming force sensitive/jedi what is a better spec to have when i get glowy.

I do like my MCarb/MBH template but wondering if I should opt for a melee based one.

Sorry if this has been answered in another post could not find any info.

Thanks in advance for your views.

in the current system BH is by far the best proffession to grind out force sensitive becuz ur cap for pistol, carbine, and rifle xp is rly high, hence less trips to the village. imo ranged vs melee def doesnt matter to you atm, but ranged def will be very important when u unlock jedi and also having a good ranged proffession is also important becuz as a low level padi u will need the ranged in order to protect and fight back against the BH.

Whatever prof will be the most fun for you, it's a long grind, don't wanna do while miserable.

That said, IMO Galbatorix is right. Ranged is better for group grinding because you need to make sure you get shots in on every target, that's just a little easier to do with a gun since you don't need to run around. And I too think MBH is the best ranged prof, it just goes so well with any other prof from rifleman to ranger.

But, all in all as long as you're a good fighter, there's a place for you in any group and you'll do fine.

As for low-level paddy, i'm curious about this too, about what professions are best to have. From what i've read, currently the situation stinks no matter what. If a professional BH comes after you when you're still a jedi n00b, you're going to die. Your options are to take the negative xp and smile, or avoid bhs all together (which is a whole other topic). If anyone HAS found a great strategy for dealing with bhs early on in their jedi career, i'd love to hear it.
