Thread: The realism of removing names from missions.

I've seen a lot of people complain that this kills immersion but honestly I think it does the opposite. Someone has reports an 'unknown' jedi (since techically our characters can't see the names over the heads of others) and gives a description. You as a BH track down this person using your 'skills' (this makes me laugh though, the hunt is the easy part with droids) to locate and engage him much like a real life detective would. I agree there are times when bounties would be generated by people who actually know the jedi/quarry but from a role playing view this is a fine system in my opinion. Everyone gets hunted now, that should make you happy too since full templates are much closer to 1v1 anyway...

But even as a "unknown" jedi, the person is know going to offer a "unknown" amount of money to kill him.

You aren't thinking this through.

80% of our marks can be found grinding at the Feral Wookie camp on Kashyyyk. Droids don't work there, but at least before we could walk the trail, copy down names and instances, then scan the terms for a match.

With names removed, how the hell are we supposed to do that?

You get at least 25k and as much as 226k so its all about skill really. If you are a good pvper then you won't panic when you find your jedi knight instead of the mid level padawans that were your fodder. Kill the majority of your marks and you'll still make money. For the work you put into it (launching a droid) you are getting paid a ton as it is should you kill them and most jedi have no idea what to do in the face of a bh...

As far as the kash things goes, why are you hunting them anyway? Because you know where they are? There is nothing wrong with grinding there and the grind there is NOT an exploit. I know you hate it but jedi have grinded the geo caves, the warren, and the 0,0 spots. There happen to be 6 instances thats not a big deal. If you mark is on kash then its probably 80/20 that he/she is in one of these instances. You just have to look, and gasp, work a little harder. AFK people will still get their BH kills. I refuse to AFK and let my xp go without a fight TBH.

A. that would be the system we have now and we are not 100% sure if they are going to change the amounts or not.

B. I dont want to waste my time hunting some 30k pady in diapers thank you very much.

Jabba: Hey Bobba, i've got a bounty for you.

Bobba Fett: who is it?

Jabba: I'm not telling. But you can have this bio sig.

Bobba Fett: Umm....okay...how much do I get for him?

Jabba: Ah, I'll tell ya when you are done.

Bobba Fett: Sure thing Jabba! I'll gladly do it.

Like this would really happen. lol This scenario doesn't even factor in Kashyyyk and how the hell we are supposed to find a Jedi without a name when there are hundreds grinding on the planet. Are we supposed to go up to each one and try targeting him?

This kind of attitude I expect from a respec bh, no offense to you. ( a 30k mission is pretty tough because they still have their old skills btw) Actually I see this as a way to thin the insane amount of BH's per serverwith both the master BH box and the element of unknown when it comes to a mission. Only the most dedicated BH that enjoy the hunt will continue. As it should be. And as far as the number of jedi go you have to remember that unlocking a jedi is supposed to be your 'reward' for playing your way toward it. This has been abused by many, but it is still EVERY players right to unlock if they do the work. Because everyone pays the same amount this will not change. Please just accept that.

Dude. Are you kidding me? You say that unlocking is the reward for anyone who puts the time into it....you don't feel the same way about MBH? Jedi have more of a right to be here than BH's? This is insane.

Oh and for someone who is so interested in the RP side of things, take a look at the number of freely roaming Jedi. How does that sit with ya? Make sense for the time line?

The reason I dont fight padys' is for the main reason of respect. Most of the 220k+'s actually treat you better. I do not like getting flamed by some little pady. I want a challenge. Sure I dont win all my fights but at the end of them its always a /bow and a good fight tell. Thats the way I hunt, I give them respect and I expect to get it back. I'm just cringing at the idea of having a longer /ignore list then /friends list.

Again, you aren't thinking this through.

I hunt Kash Jedi because80%ofJedi are Kash Jedi. Yes, I am fully aware how to find a Jedi on the trails, I've gotten quite rich by doing so. But how am I supposed to find one without droids and without a name? Go to every instance and hit tab repeatedly, only to have it cycle back and forth from the same two wookies? At least currently I have a targeting macro to make the task a little easier.

And what about when the target log off? My friend's list used to do that, but without a name I can't do that either. Normally my droids would tell me if he's offline, but if I'm searching for a target on a planet that doesn't take kindly to those, when would I be using one to find out?

Regardless of whether or not you AFK grind, many Jedi are going to. While I don't necessarily have a problem with my job being made more difficult, the recent changes certainly make grinding Jedi without effort increasingly easy.

Yes I feel the same way but face it, a lot of people respeced into bh just to 'kill jedi' not actually for the profession itself. I'm willing to bet that many of them that only have 3000 will not drop skills to get MBH and many more who have it will not want to keep it. It's their right to be a bh. Its my right to have a jedi if I earn it. But you find out who is dedicated to a profession when they stick with it thought adversity, right smugglers?
