Right now smugglers don't " smuggle ". They are little more then glorified drug pushers. I can't imagine anyone paying me money to kill a guy for selling some spice or whatever.

Give the Smugglers a more defined and deeper role in the game, and I would be happy to hunt them. But right now, I don't see how it would be right.

meh, lets worry about the problems with the whole jedi/bh system first. We'll burn the next bridge when we get to it.

A smuggler takes 80 crates of Jabba's "Special Spice" to a friend for safekeeping. They then never speak to Jabba again. When Jabba's thug finds this smuggler, he tells him Jabba isn't happy and wants the spice back or for him to work off this debt. When Smuggler A refuses, Jabba sends a BH to pick him up to have a chat with him. If the Smuggler refuses to go visit Jabba, the BH kills him. That's life in the crime world, it doesn't matter if it's right or not it's still something Jabba would do.

Notice there are many guilds offering bounties on the BH terminals - only a set amount are posted and endorsed by the actual Bounty Hunter's guild. These could be referred to as "legitamate bounties". The rest could be considered "criminal" or "underground" bounties. I started out legit and ended up in the underworld. Oh well, it's just a game *shrug*.

This is how it would have to be done. As a smuggler you get a package from an npc contact during that time you have to go to various waypoints on different planets and at these waypoints you face different encounters, until you finally deliver the cargo. There are several levels of difficulty with higher rewards for the higher difficulties. The encounters vary some are combat situations (stormies show up at the waypoint), space combat, maybe even some puzzles or riddles (like the intellect badge) and if you fail this mission you don't get the reward and you get a bounty on your head. The details that if you fail you might get a mark on your head is told to you when you take the mission. The awards for the smuggler should be substantial and the risks of failure should be high. The bounty ends either after a few days or when the smuggler dies.

I would hunt anyone, not more for money (i have enough to get by) but more for fun. i would love to see bounty missions on smugglers, and people that "get rid of" factional bases-whos to say the imps or rebs wouldnt hire a assasin to kill a war criminal?

Ive mentioned this before in the GCW forums...

Tie the PvP ranking system we already have into the BH terminals..basically ANYONE who is a prolific PvP'er will find themselves on the BH terms if their PvP ranking goes above a certain point.and the value of the mission will depend on just how high their ranking is.

Make BH about more than stalking Jedis. I think this makes a lot of sense given the meat of BH is PvP and only other people who do PvP will become marks, thus no whining PvE Jedi scenarios.

I would also apply a version of the Jedi 'visibility' system to all PvP players (basically kills done in public push your ranking higher, and thus make you a more valuable mark, faster). That way if you dont want to wind up on the terms all the time, you move your fighting out of the starport and into the world at large, where there are not so many eyes watching you.

Example:

l33+d00d who duels noobs in the starport will find himself at the top of the terms if he keeps that up, and will have every BH hunting his dumb a$$ down because the payout is so good.

I, and im sure a lot of smugglers as well, were hoping with the coming of JTL and player owned ships, we would see a Smuggler role revamp. All the tools are there. Ships, goods, and smugglers. Its sad the devs really took the easy way out though and that smugglers really still don't smuggle.

Plus, my BH character is a Rebel. And without Smugglers there wouldn't even be Rebels. Where do you think we get our weapons and supplies from ?

Would be cool ?? To go arround hunting pretty much any player charachter for whatever reason ??

I don't want to do that, and I don't think thats fair at all.

The only, and I mean ONLY reason that were allowed to hunt Jedi is because they are the most powerfull player class in the game. I don't think well ever see the day where BH's can just go arround collecting bounties on all kinds of weaker player classes.

Good ideas Kinshi. It's nice to see people post ideas that make this game better for everyone.

How would declaring open season on people for having a good PVP rating make the game " better for everyone " ??

Itsa horrible idea.

declaring "open seson" would be fun, this is a WAR in WAR there are people who DIE and not all of them die because they are stronger then normal people. this would be a very interesting way to get PVP back into the game.
