Bounty Hunter Archive
Thread: Im a BH, and I don't want to hunt Smugglers. No sir.
A smuggler takes 80 crates of Jabba's "Special Spice" to a friend for safekeeping. They then never speak to Jabba again. When Jabba's thug finds this smuggler, he tells him Jabba isn't happy and wants the spice back or for him to work off this debt. When Smuggler A refuses, Jabba sends a BH to pick him up to have a chat with him. If the Smuggler refuses to go visit Jabba, the BH kills him. That's life in the crime world, it doesn't matter if it's right or not it's still something Jabba would do.
Notice there are many guilds offering bounties on the BH terminals - only a set amount are posted and endorsed by the actual Bounty Hunter's guild. These could be referred to as "legitamate bounties". The rest could be considered "criminal" or "underground" bounties. I started out legit and ended up in the underworld. Oh well, it's just a game *shrug*.

Ive mentioned this before in the GCW forums...
Tie the PvP ranking system we already have into the BH terminals..basically ANYONE who is a prolific PvP'er will find themselves on the BH terms if their PvP ranking goes above a certain point.and the value of the mission will depend on just how high their ranking is.
Make BH about more than stalking Jedis. I think this makes a lot of sense given the meat of BH is PvP and only other people who do PvP will become marks, thus no whining PvE Jedi scenarios.
I would also apply a version of the Jedi 'visibility' system to all PvP players (basically kills done in public push your ranking higher, and thus make you a more valuable mark, faster). That way if you dont want to wind up on the terms all the time, you move your fighting out of the starport and into the world at large, where there are not so many eyes watching you.
Example:
l33+d00d who duels noobs in the starport will find himself at the top of the terms if he keeps that up, and will have every BH hunting his dumb a$$ down because the payout is so good.
