Thread: Fair and legitimate penalty or reward to prevent JEdi from house sitting AFK...?

I don't think there should be any penalty for sitting in a house. Sorry, I know it is frustrating but that is just how I feel.
If any action needs to be taken (which I don't think it should) then it should be something about taking the nameoff the terms, but there are so many small details to work out for that. How long do they have to be in the house before it is removed and things like that.
There should not be penalty. Beleive it or not, not all jedi sit in their house afk to bother bh's. Some do other things.

Can you answer this:
Do you play a Jedi? (ok, checked your posts and it's obvious you are one of the Jedi playes who exploit the /duel feature to gain information regarding another players mission. I guess this supports why you would prefer to remain hidden in your house spamming a macro that prevents you from being logged inorder to grieve other players.)
Do you play a Bountyhunter?
Do you feel Jedi should have encouragement to visit a Shrine periodically throughout gameplay?

The only fair solution is to take the Jedi off the terminals if the Jedi remains in a private structure for more than 30 minutes, and put him back on if he leaves the house for more than 5 seconds.
A nice bonus would be to also give the Bounty Hunter a message when he launches the seeker droid: "Your target is in a private house." Technical issues may prevent that, however.

forcing players in agame to do anything they dont want to due to another players wishesshould be wrong. Thye force pvp, if i need to go to the store for 15 mins and not logout its my choice, you gte my mission, wellsorry, deal. My BH toon does hunt jedi too, and ive gotten house sitters, and oh well i wasted 2 droids and 5 minutes. Ive wasted far longer in this game before.
How about BHs start acting like BHs and stop acting like J3deye?
How's that for starters.
Drop the damn mission, get on with your life.

...and the whinners continue to troll - "boo hoo i can do what evar i want 2 and u cant stop me!!!!" Just what we're looking for.
Can you post something constructive? I'll bet your IQ might even increase by one point. ![]()
I don't feel that Jedi should be given any penatlies for being in a private house too long. They pay their $15 just like we do. However, I do think that if a Jedi is IN a private structure for more than a specified time.... 10min AFK, 25min AFK? that their mission should be removed from the terminal as if they were offline.
The AFK system would need to be reworked a bit in order to do this though. Currenlty the system seems to interpret macro'd actions as being "at the keyboard." The system could be reworked to act similar to windows AFK screen saver activation: the system does not care what you are doing, ie processes, computing, etc. If you do not physically strike a key or move the mouse for a specified amount of time, the system goes into AFK mode - different depending on your settings.
But the basis of idea is there. The SWG AFK system COULD be changed to make only a keystroke or mouse movement "valid" authentication that someone is actually at the keyboard, physically playing in the game.

I play both and all the crying about house sitting is getting OLD. My Jedi is part leader of guild and city only safe place I have to send guild/city mail is in my house. Only place to run forum auctions and be safe is from my house. I do play this game with many real life friends and theres many times we just chill in a house and chat. It's my money I been around long enough to earn the right to sit in my house and chat with my friends. No where in the rules does it say I must be in battle or only spend said amount of time in my house. Was there a small claus at the bottom of the contract that says all Jedi must drop everything when a BH is at their door,
Oh well my 2 cents.

Heh, and I thought the Jedi forums were where the crybabies are at." Waaaaaaa,,, my mark is in his house." It's so freakin easy to find Jedi these days now that the offline ones are off the terminals. You find one in a house that doesn't want to fight you, move on to the next one, it doesn't take that long. Yes I have a Jedi, Yes I have a bounty hunter (and not a fotm CM either).. before you ask. You find a mark in his house not moving, grab another mission, don't be so lazy.
And when you guys cry about your mark "exploiting" by /dueling you, you fail to remember,, that all came because of the bounty hunters who would /duel a jedi so that Jedi couldn't fight back..
