Thread: Fair and legitimate penalty or reward to prevent JEdi from house sitting AFK...?
No where did I ever say I want uber anything, I just dont want cry babies to tell me I have to do something when its my money and I will spend my time in game the way I want. Dont like it go play a different game. I do come out and battle when I'm not busy doing other stuff. I have a halfass saber but can hold my own. I lose more then I win I dont care if I lose xp! I just want toPLAY THE GAME AND HAVE FUN.

I don't think there should be any penalty for sitting in a house. Sorry, I know it is frustrating but that is just how I feel.
If any action needs to be taken (which I don't think it should) then it should be something about taking the nameoff the terms, but there are so many small details to work out for that. How long do they have to be in the house before it is removed and things like that.
There should not be penalty. Beleive it or not, not all jedi sit in their house afk to bother bh's. Some do other things.
Can you answer this:
Do you play a Jedi? (ok, checked your posts and it's obvious you are one of the Jedi playes who exploit the /duel feature to gain information regarding another players mission. I guess this supports why you would prefer to remain hidden in your house spamming a macro that prevents you from being logged inorder to grieve other players.)
Do you play a Bountyhunter?
Do you feel Jedi should have encouragement to visit a Shrine periodically throughout gameplay?

I play both and all the crying about house sitting is getting OLD. My Jedi is part leader of guild and city only safe place I have to send guild/city mail is in my house. Only place to run forum auctions and be safe is from my house. I do play this game with many real life friends and theres many times we just chill in a house and chat. It's my money I been around long enough to earn the right to sit in my house and chat with my friends. No where in the rules does it say I must be in battle or only spend said amount of time in my house. Was there a small claus at the bottom of the contract that says all Jedi must drop everything when a BH is at their door,
Oh well my 2 cents.
No where in any of the purchased material does it state that you can play a Jedi.
Try thinking "game mechanics" and not "i want 2 uber and do what evar i want".

Yes, that's the issue. It's refered to as a balanced gaming envrionment.
What do you think aboutplaying a Jedi that has a requirement to visit a ForceShrine which would provide for a benefit such as to increase a limited forceCost buff or something similar? And, if by infact a Jedi does _not_ visist a shrine that after x many hours they recieve a forceDowner - maybe a downer type of function would be nil while encouraging a player to not sit AFK all day. Would you be agasint having a slim forceCost buff to limit your force usage?

I don't understand how you think that you should be able to discourage us from sitting in our houses. Just drop your mission and find a new one. It's not that hard!

This is a dumb idea there should not be ANY penalty for a Jedi hiding. Nor will there be.
Taking the afk house sitter of the terms is not really a penalty is it?

Taking the afk house sitter of the terms is not really a penalty is it?The way I see it is that it provides a more rewarding experience less fustration.I just dont see how that would be a penalty.
that was in response to the OP.
not sure why every post has to turn into a pissing contest but what ever. For the jedi that are trolling here, perhaps you should read the title of the thread. I know reading and not flaming isnt what jedi do, hence the flaming. Were talking about afk jedi here. If you want to sit in your house and babble to your friends so be it, you dont apply to the conversation. If you want to run to the store while being afk, well then you do apply. Lets keep on topic, and stop whining, put forth something constructive if you choose to say anything at all.
I would have to compleatly agree with the majority of bh'ers that simply say take them off the terms if they are afk just as being offline. Solves the problem for everyone. Bh dont have a bunch of afk jedi flooding the terms. If you go afk you go off the terms, if you hit a key you come back, however other things should break it too, like combat. Because as it is I can target someone with follow, hit an assist macro, and boom, im afk yet still gaining exp while playing with my glow stick. So really any keystroke or targeted action by the player. On the other hand any non afk player should be attackable at all times. goes with the territory. Being hunted is a penelty for vis, you gained the vis, and theirfore you pay the price. Being in a house is a tricky issue however that I need to think more on before I can come up with a good answer. But as stated afk jedi are the issue here, not at the keyboard ones.
Honestly, if I'm in my house, there is no reason for me to step outside. If you find me out and about, there is no reason for me not to run. Fighting you will only add to my vis, cost me food, decay my gear and put my xp at risk. How about rewarding a Jedi for victory vs a BH with something other than more vis? If I kill my attacker, give me my shot at theBH missionBoss loot table.
You BHs have the market cornered on looted bugs, I want some too!![]()
Edit: ok, re-read the op... Doh... you mean the grief sitters. My only thought there is the same as for ALLAFK play. Get rid of it. If you can't be bothered to press the keys enough to keep you online, then you don't deserve the bandwidth.

Very solid post! I'm glad to see someone can read. ![]()
And yes, the similarity in forum ID's is a pure coincidence.
Also, I do not play a BH. My main. which is the only character I play, is a Jedi.
I do not beleive that being afk removing you from the terms will solve the problem. If a jedi is house sitting to bother bh's then they will have macros or other methods to prevent themselves going afk. Under your idea they are still on the terms and still causinggrief.
You said my post about jedi doing legitamate things in a house did not pertain to the original post. If you read the original post it is important because his/her idea would affect them as well as grief sitters.
Simply put, there is none. No profession has any penalty for staying in a private structure, public structure or outdoors while afk.

theres enough penalty for playing and paying to play this game to notintroduce more.
hunting jedi is a bonus, not a right.

I'd also like to add that the only ideas i agree with are to remove jedi from the terms that are afk, or for the droid to report that they are in a private structure. Voting to imposea penalty on another player (regardless of them being jedi, or j3di or jedeye or whatever the l33t lunchboxes like to call them) so we canbebetter conveniencedis not only inconsiderate, it's against the rules of play.
I love how both professions are thrown into one big group by the other group as all being the same. We might as well be back in the 1960's...
Again, I am forced to comment how amazed I am to see everyone cry about "Oh nOEs the skie b f4lling!!!"
Is it too difficult to look at a system which provides for, *gasp* "A Reward" to encourage players to _NOT_ go afk in a house!?!?!?
I guess these post serve as an offering to the lowest denominator...
OK kiddies, let's look at "how can we reward Jedi to not baby sit their houses...thus making their presnce availble for the visibilty system."
