Thread: Using Force Powers While Cloaked...

A cloaker should not be able to use any other force powers while cloaked, especially force regen. They can stay perpetually cloaked. The other night, I was in a PvP battle where a cloaked Jedi was using an exploit to attack me while cloaked. If he were not allowed to use any powers while cloaked, this exploit wouldn't happen.

As cloak is, it is way too overpowering. I can track my bounty and as soon as I attack from range, he cloaks and is gone. The jedi then can force regen, pop a bunch of food and hit his Booster Blue... and I no longer have first strike capabilities. It was stated by the devs that what makes a BH able to be 1vs1 with a full temp Jedi is our first strike capabilities. If that is taken away from us... then what do we have?


Bottom line is... a Jedi should not be able to use force powers while cloaked.

But cloak isn't a I-WIN button..its a I-SUCK-RUN-AWAY button lol. Sorry that you were taken advantage of by a jerk who can exploit cloak. What you gotta realize is most of us don't do that. And to get cloak we either have to gimp ourselves in the offense or defense trees. Cloak isn't just a simple skill to get...it would be like only having enough xp to get Invesitgation to hunt Jedi but not enough to get Weapon skills, or getting Investigation without getting Defenses. Cloakers have no reason to die becuz they can escape but reallyin a straight fight Cloak isn't gonna win it for anyone.

Yeah, I agree. I had one mark that was cloaked over half an hour before he went inside of his house and logged.


I could only track him around, keeping him from grinding and getting xp thou.


But cloak sure needs a timer (2min tops) and high force cost too. They shouldnt be able to do anything else then normal movement or the cloak should break, as it is for riflemans /cover.

Stop trying to get cloak nerfed! It is fine as it is, the only defense/offense a powers jedi has is pretty much cloak.Defender has AI, which im sure u dislike just as much, andenhancer has forcerun.Take that away and we are helpless. If a jedi does attack while cloaked as u say, this is an exploit and was never intended by the devs. Next time report the name of the person that does this, and the CSRs will handle it. Don't scream nerf on cloak.

I definitely agree... Cloak is extremely too powerful in it's current state.

Although I don't think it needs a nerf, I believe it needs to be moved into Master Powers box.


Being a BH for the longest time and having cloak used like this against me I thought it was crap, but now I'm starting down the path of jedi, I still think it's crap.


It is too accesable and should be moved, it's too good to be out of the Master box.


Master Defender has AI in the MASTER box, as Powers versoin of AI...Cloak, should be moved to the MASTER box.

I'm not screaming nerf. If I wanted to scream nerf, I'd ask for it to be in the Master box. Seriously though... the element of surprise is the Bounty Hunters greatest weapon. For the sake of balance, if they want to cloak, fine... but to be able to just sit their and regen their force and then attack the BH before the TEF has expired is wrong also, not to mention the ones that use the exploit.

My opinion is different from yours, no better or worse, so I'm not going to go into it. I'd state all the reasons why it's not overpowered or "wrong" for a jedi to be able to use more than one jedi ability at a time, firmly believing them and you'll counter, believing yours just as firmly.


The only thing that surprises me about your statement, especially considering how long you've been playing the game, is that you are expecting what the developers say to be true or static...can you imagine all the things players could complain about (and some do anyway) nowbecause at one point a dev said something and it isn't always the case?

Hmmm, no!


Nerf cloak because there is a bug that is exploited.... GREAT!


Just report that guy.


For some templates cloak is the only defense.



Ohhh, and first strike? You had to start it (first strike) the Jedi cloaked.... time passes ... you do nothing ... he attacks (NOT first strike)

Maybe you should start running the next time a Jedi cloakes...

Hmm. They CAN use force powers while cloaked? Somehow I'd assumed cloak worked like Invisibility in EQ... breaks on casting a spell.

Agreed! Wonder why this skill was even implemented. Pretty sure the Dev that came up with this enjoys playing Jedi...
