Thread: Yet Another Template Question

Getting a tad bored with my character and thinking of switching it up a tad (while keeping Master Smuggler, of course). I was looking at something like doing Master Smuggler, keeping Pistoleer 0-4-0-4 for the speed and accuracy, and going Commando for Flamethrower 1-4. Then I will use the leftover points to get a bit of medic, thinking 2-2-0-1.
I'm thinking it would be fun to use the launcher pistol with the smuggler DF line, and having a new flamethrower to play with could be fun. Anyone running anything like this? Any comments, suggestions, etc?

I am going for Master Fencer/ Master Smuggler plus I have points for TKA and I have enough for a 4400so which way should I put my points 4400 or 4040 or 4004 you get my point.

Trying to decide on speccing the rest of my skill points.
I'm definitely keeping Ranger, and I'd like to go all the way to Master.
Here's the possibilities I've come up with:
Master Ranger/Master Pistoleer (with 0404 in Marksman)
Master Ranger/Master Pistoleer (with 0400 in Marksman)/Creature Handler 3/0/0/0 (for crowd control)
I'm also thinking of swapping Pistoleer with some training in Bounty Hunter (which has better damage, BH LLC/pistol or Pistoleer??). Also, would I be better off mastering Ranger or BH, if going that route?
My playing will be mostly solo harvesting (buffed) and group hunting. I have no interest in PVP.

Ranged support is freaking useless. Ignore it totally, unless you want to waste skill pts on warning shot.
I am Master Scout/Master Ranger/Master Pistoleer/Novice medic (3 pts to play with, usually in medic)
Unbuffed and unarmored I can take on about anything solo. Buffed, armored, with a droid (no skill pts needed - gotta love freebies) I can take on anything. Do the search here and on the scout board for tactics I use. Best part, I can heal me.
CH - useless as you got to keep the pets alive, grow em, feed em, make em happy... and then they are only good as tanks. Kinetic resistance on upper level creatures makes them about useless in attacks.
Want to harvest a lot quick - go BH. Get enough of scout to harvest well. You can kill quicker, not better, the forum there sucks bad, your general IQ decreases hourly (gotta be l33t) and you will be drug into PvP.

Plz give me your opinion on this template and I'm going to be doing PVE alot I could quiet frankly care less about PVP also one more questionhow should i arrange my stats?

Hello there fellow pistoleers,
I was hoping I could get some feedback on the template I am working towards. Currently I am Master Pistoleer, Teras Kasi Master, and Rogue, I am debating where to sink my remaining skill points. I am thinking investing them into the fencer profession for additional defenses would be a good idea, but am not sure where to add them. I was thinking 0/4/3/0 in fencer to give me a high resistance to knockdown and other state effects. However...I am unsure if this is the best way to go. I've never been one for medic, and I can live without scout. Any feedback from my fellow gunmen would be greatly appreciated, so let me know what you think.

IMHO, medic is great
Too bad you aren't one for it. I think you should definitely take the firstbranch in fencer, as it will give you very good melee/ranged defense. The other branch you should take is entirely dependant on whether you want defense vs KD or defense vs blind/dizzy/intimidate more.

I'd like to hear from those with similar template.
I was wondering, should I be picking master smuggler/bh line/some pistoleer or ms/master pistoleer/remaining point somewhere.
Whats the pro and con for both these template?

well i started a post on this but i didnt quite explain it enough so here is the revised version (and is about as useful as TH's 10 questions)
I took pike and master brawler right away i love this prof! now this is what i need, for mainly PvE, with the odd PvP to help get rid of the mouthy ones and to have some fun while waiting for buffs to run out and such. what will be better for me? numerous possibilities but all include master brawler and master pike. I really liked throwing TKM and 4430 fencer in for some uber defense but after much thinking im trying to decide on maybe booting TKM and getting swords or maybe switching teh fencer for 0434 swordsman. what will be best for what im looking at in the game? is swords just as good w/o master (and losing that +20 speed
) and is TKM really worth it to master? i could always drop down to 0404 and get master swords, just want any advice available, i can never make up my mind on these things!

Ok here we go, I got this idea, tell me what yall think:
MBH
Pistoleer 4/0/4/4 (for speed dodge and geo cert)
Carbineer 0/4/0/3 (for while moving acc and regular acc)
I really want to focus on carbs more, but BH gets SO MANY mods for carbines that mastering carbineer seems useless. Pistols however could always use more help.
