Thread: Running Jedi? DEAD

What’s worse: killing a Jedi and setting them back 300k xp (think that’s the number) or tracking them for the maximum mission time (3 days) and basically making them lose all that time?

That’s what I have to decide now. Last night I hunted down a mark on Tatooine. I tracked him into his city, popped out of cover and opened up on him. So he ran. And BOY DID HE RUN! I chased him for about 10 min across Tatooine, to his house where he decided to hide from me. So I “left”… Then he leaves his house, drives RIGHT OVER me, and pops me out of cover, so I chase him to another town… he’s trying to shuttle away. I shoot him to keep him in combat so he can’t leave, and he keeps rooting and running away from me. All the while, blowing up swoops, asking me to leave him alone, etc.

Finally he loses agro and shuttles out to Mos Espa, so I follow there…. The chase goes on for about another 10min there, he FINALLY decides to make a stand and fight me, I’m assuming because I had about 5 Rebel npcs aggro’d on me. Well they lost agro, he couldn’t kill me, so the running continued. Eventually, he ran into space and stayed there until I logged out about an hour later.

I want to make this Jedi pay for the 4 swoops be popped, and the aggravation of having to chase him all around just to have him “elude” me into space. So the question is this…. Money aside (as it does not matter to me) would it be more hurtful to this Jedi to kill him outright for the experience loss or to chase him for the 3 days that I will have his mission, causing him not to be able to actually do anything but run from me?

Make his life a living h3ll. Kill him, his friends, his pets, burn his frickin house down... if you wanted to bake him cookies and make him feel comfy then you should have been a Chef.

I've had runners before... I will chase them around a bit over the next hour after they initially take off.... but I will usually let them go. However, THIS guy ticked me off for some reason. I'm prepared to chase him for the next 2 days, every minute that I am in game, just to ruin his play time for it.

What I'm asking is... do you think that 3 days lost play time for a Jedi on the run, is worse than loseing the XP from a BH deathblow?

Well you see, you're hunting him for the wrong reasons. A real bounty hunter hunts for profit, you're hunting him just to grief him now. That's niether fun for you or the jedi. But, the jedi is given an alt and can just wait you out for 3 days, while you can't take anymore BH missions until you drop.

Yeah, make his life a living hell, after all, he's a Jedi, he doesn't deserve to live right?Basket weavers who /respec to BH deserve money and fame but Jedi deserve to die... You're pathetic.

As the the original question to the thread, well, running will always be an option for the Jedi simply because the BH has to kill the Jedi, the Jedi doesn't have to kill the BH. Me personally, if I see i'm losing, i'll run and won't have a grain of shame doing it. First time I did it, I appologized to Anjon who is a great BH. He told me not to because like I said before, the Jedi doesn't need to kill. Some Jedi will just stand there, robe on with a rifle and bore the BH away, others have nice weapons and will stand up to the BH and others run.

Rememer that the Jedi doesn't have a lot to gain from fighting. Experience, adrenaline and fun can come from a BH fight, but most often, the Jedi loses time, money if a vehicule was disabled and, XP and even more time in the event of a loss. So can you blame a Jedi from running? Not really

Stalk him for 3 days if you have to, that's your option. It's his option to grind his alt for 3 days also. If he can't win, if he wasn't lucky enough to get great tunes and have a decent weapon, then why should he fight you and risk the loss. He has no motivation at all to do so.

So, keep his mission, keep him on your friends list and hunt him as much as you can. That's what I would do but don't get angry if conciders himself too weak to fight.

Keep in mind: as long as the veteran reward yacht is non-attackable, Jedi have a safe place in space. And as long as people can decorate them, and use them for storage, the yachts can't be made permanently "destroyable". All you'll get is the Jedi back on the ground temporarily, perhaps with a few wounds, ready to hop right back into the yacht.
