Bounty Hunter Archive
Thread: A really bad experience.
I've only got one good thing to say for those Jedi: At least they weren't AFK ![]()
But yeah... it does suck that they got so angry at you for killing one wookiee.
Are you really surprised? Jedi/BH Advasarial relationship + your mission in a prime grinding spot + high account turnover + respec BHs/Jedis = poor behavior on both sides.
When I play my main, and I have my MBH title up, I get nasty tells from Jedi. When I am playing my Jedi, and I'm grouped whereever, BH's never fail to make a snide remark. I can honestly say that I don't have the same class vs. class issues when either playing my Jedi in stealth mode or playing my BH in stealth mode.
Is the behavior nice? No it certainly isn't. Is the behavior unexpected given the current interactions between BHs and Jedis? No it certainly isn't.
remember. you can go anywhere and hunt. if players are telling you to get out of "their" spawn. Just hunt them anyway. it doesn't belong to anyone.

This is ridiculous.
I'm on the Ryatt trail trying to rescue Rroot. As I get to the Feral Wookie village, there's a group of 8 or so Jedi there (didn't bother to count them).
One heals me, which I thanked him for. Then I automatically get a duel request as another one says, "Oh PLEASE tell me you have a mission on me!" I explain to them that I don't, then I go prone to kill ONE wookie I need for the mission. They start yelling at me that this is "their" spawn. I, trying to not be rude, tell them that this isn't a private spawn and that I only need one.
After going back to Rroot, I get killed and have to work my way back again. Once again, I am accosted, this time much more aggressively (3 duel requests). I tell them how annoying it is that I can't even run my own mission without getting accosted by Jedi. They tell me again to leave their spawn (which I wasn't attacking anyway). Tempers get pretty high for a moment, but evenutally settle down, and the main voice (who was having a very bad day anyway) apologised. Everyone went on their separate ways none the worse for wear.
I'm not upset at the Jedi in that group. I am, however, saddened that the game has gotten this way. I rarely hunt Jedi. I'm a bounty hunter mainly for the combat skills and for RP'ing. It really ticked me off at first that I was hit with such hatred. It's pretty hard to get me angry, but this was about it. Please, let's try to be at least civil to one another out there.
Oh, and BTW, why do people always accuse people of being a newb? I've been playing since day one and almost laughed myself out of my chair when one of the Jedi in the group called me a newb.I retaliated by calling him and ebayer, which I regret as well, considering that he also had been playing from day one and I had hunted with his alt a long time ago. Name calling and general rudeness has no place in a game like this.
And, if any of the Jedi reading this were in the group I mentioned, I hope your hunt went well and best wishes to you.
indeed it is sad that there is such hostility. Both sides would be a hell of a lot better off if people would calm down and realize its a game FFS
Yeah I think everyone gets called a noob now a days. Even the people who call people noobs. Best solution would be to add em all to ignore and kill wookies till your hearts content.
Sorry this happened to you. Keep your head up though. Not everyone is like that.
Oh almost forgot. The reason you get so many duel request is cause the jedi are checking to see if you have thier mission.

You know, I do understand it to a point. Jedi do have it tough with bounty hunters always looking for them. The argument of "well, bounty hunters should always be looking for them," makes sense in an RP sense. However, SOE has made it clear that RP means nothing in this game. If it did, there wouldn't be nearly as many Jedi as there are. The GCW would mean something. So many other little things would be different.
However, they look at it (probably correctly so) as a game that should be enjoyed. People wanted to play Jedi, so the Devs made it easier to get a Jedi character. In doing so, they later empowered the Bounty Hunters with more strength to hunt said Jedi.
And it's true, some people don't want to take part in PvP. This should not prevent them from enjoying their game, even Jedi players.
A new system MUST be developed. It's the only way stuff like this will cease.
I have an idea, one I have not read on the forums before, and prehaps it will work. Here it is.
