Thread: Why not force jedis to follow the rules instead?

Publ 20 is only a result of jedi whining. All these changes are from the jedi-wish list on the jedi forum, check for yourself if you dont belive me.

Jedi has cried it's too hard to be and become jedi for very long now. And the devs has caved in time after time, and I sure hope this was the last time they got soft. It's really horrible thye can whine so much that the devs go and completely ruin an other profession for thier sake.

Aren't they at all afraid we shall quit the miserable game and leave the jedi alone on a galaxy full of only jedi? Aren't our money we pay to play this crap as good as jedi players money are?

I just ask myself wouldn't it havebe easier to inform jedi players to follow the rules and stay discreet and off the terms? Woulnd't it have been easier to say - do as we (devs) advice you to do or face the consequenses?

Wouldn't it have been easier to just say - if you can't face these regulations to become jedi - try some other profession?

If you (the devs) had done this - you wouldn't have a crisis on your hands today. You wouldn't have an overpopulation of jedis.

And you would have a popualtion of jedi players that were actaually really, really comitted to play jedi. No kids would have been able to pull that off. And regular professions would be the ordinary thing, not as it is today - Jedi as THE regular profession.

But instead you (the devs)cave in and let the whole player community suffer due to that one (1) profession whines. There are so many other professions people wants to play in the SW universe. Far from all are actaually intrested in going jedi - do we all have to suffer for some wants to go jedi?

Let them have it a hard time becomming jedi who actually wants it. Let them face solitude and an extreme long grind (all can grind solo, it just takes longer time). Let them face consequenses if they fail to follow the rules for being jedi. Let them feel puishments for AFK exploit grinding and fight clubbing and such. Only honorable and good players should be allowed jedi profession.

And above all - LET THE REST OF US BE UNAFFECTED OF THIER WHINING!!

And if it means no jedi missions -so let it be. You (the devs) dont seem to want us to hunt them anyway.

If they want to whine and make it easier to reach full template they'll be way too many Jedi and in order to balance the game - to an atleast reasonable level - Jedi will be nerfed closer and closer to the equal of any other CL 80 player. God knows half of the AFK Rryattt trailers that I've come up to in a 1v1 had no idea what they were doing - so in a way that nerf has been brought upon many by themselves.

No. There has been a surge of newbs in the game since ep 3 came out. (still fairly new my self) Let's just say that 60000 10-25 year olds bought the game after seeing ep 3. What do you think almost everyone of these people bought the game for? To become a jedi, plain and simple. The devs response to this is let's make jedi easier, that way we get at least 7months of subscribtion fees and all the elite (older)jedi are happy too. bi7ch whine and complain all you want, but the bottom line is the masses get what they want. If everyone had bought the game to become bobba fett then BH would be stronger and more formidable, and that goes for any of the proffessions.

I'd agree. From a non-AFK jedi, I'm looking forward to the FRS though. LOL

I agree. I'd have to add that a good number of newbs, myself included, bought it because of TTE, which is a darn good deal. And I didn't even know I was getting a free 5 million creds with it! (For the record, I love my BARC and will never sell it.)

I haven't experienced enough of the BH vs. Jedi stuff to comment on it, so I won't... But what I will say is that I hope that now that ep3 has come and gone, "Jedi Fever" will slowly die down to moremanageable levels (though I state the obvious when I say that it'll never die out completely) and SOE won't feel the need to pander to the masses anymore.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Wait until Pub 21 before passing judgement. I have an incling they're going to give us a boost against Jedi. Just a guess, but I'd say it a good one.

Well no one hopes more that youre right than me. But based on my experience with SOE, Jedi and the developers actions towards the game, id say there is no way in hell that publish 21, or any publish for that matter will effectively level the playing field. It is get a Jedi, stand on the sideline, or find a way to enjoy the game otherwise. I havent seen any evidence to the contrary, and with every publish, this is getting more reinforced. Not to be a pessimist or anything.

This is highly doubtful. Jedi are the uber "alpha" profession in this game. The devs have even said that they're one and one-half times better than a full template combat profession. "Jedi fever" isn't going anywhere, I'm afraid. There will always be a significant number of players that simply want to play the uber class. I'm sure some of us know about bards or tamers in UO of old days, or traders in AO, and the list goes on. There is always "well, I've put in more time and work," which is complete BS - as this simply rewards people with no lives, no work, no school, etc. Jedi is not HARD, it's just long and BORING. In fact, it's pretty damned easy if you have friends. Besides, you can now /afk grind Jedi. It's getting really, really stupid.

No, Jedi fever isn't going anywhere.

Well, I've written in other posts that they can give us boosts, without making us a 1.5 profession, simply give us skills such as:

+5 sabre defense per block

+5 force defense per block

+5 cloak detection per block

(this numbers are irrelevent, but you get the general idea.)

This wouldn't effect us against any other profession in the game, but would give most bounty hunters a chance again full template defenders...

Doubt it.

Any "love" thrown to Bounty Hunter (or any other profession) that is at the expense of Jedi, will not last long or will be countered in some form.

It has nothing to the with Jedi and everything to do with BH and is tied to moving missions to Master. I am trying to get an OK to let you guys know.
