Concerning speed mods from skills;

  • Novice Marksman +5
  • Intermediate Carbine Skill +5
  • Advanced Carbine Skill +5
  • Expert Carbine Skill +5
  • Carbine Specialist +5
  • Novice Carbineer +5
  • Intermediate Carbine Assault Tactics +5
  • Advanced Carbine Assault Tactics +5
  • Expert Carbine Assault Tactics +5
  • Master Carbine Assault Tactics +10

  • That's where I'm at right now. From what I read in another post this equates to a -0.55 seconds off of the speed of a carbine, such that a 3.8 speed laser would fire at 3.25 seconds/shot. Is this correct? Are there any other pertinent factors that would affect this equation?

    You heard completely wrong...

Its not -0.55....but 55% faster. Take your normal speed and multiply by 1-(speed mod)/100. In this case:

    1-55/100 = 1 - 0.55 = 0.45 times your speed. So your 3.8 speed laser fires at 1.7 WHEN USING NO SPECIALS.

Specials add a delay to the timer...some are 1.5...2...or 4.

So in the above case, if you have a 2.0 timer factor and you fire at 1.7, you fire every 3.4.

In addition, there is a speed cap of 1.0 second no matter how fast your +speed is.

I recently bought a few power hammers - 1 sliced for speed the other for damage. With my next skill box I will have a total of 50 speed modifyers. Does any1 know how these apply to the actual weapon speed? I want to find out how soon I can use the damage sliced 1 effectivly.

    Speed sliced:
    126-465 attack
    3.9 speed

    Damage sliced:
    136-583 attack
    5.4 speed

i think numbers are %s in most of these cases.. so im pretty sure that 50% would be you attack 50% faster with that weapon. That would cut 1/4 off the speed of the hammer.

I still use my sword for most things i knowi cant kill with one hit.

I set up a macro to by hardest hit with the hammer right off, to do max dmg then swap to my sword so I can get the speed out of it for the rest of combat.

Carry both as they can be useful for diffrent targets.

For years I've lived a double life. In the day I do my job; I ride the bus, roll up my sleeves with the hoi polloi. But at night I live a life of exhilaration, of missed heartbeats and adrenaline. And, if the truth be known, a life of dubious virtue. I won't deny it. I've been engaged in violence. Even indulged in it. I have assailed adversaries, and not merely in self defense. I've exhibited disregard for life, limb, and property, and savoured every moment. You may not think it to look at me, but I have commanded armies and conquered worlds. And though, in achieving these things, I have set morality aside, I have no regrets. For though I have led a double life, at least I can say, "I have Lived"

Can you post how you setup that macro that switches weapons?..I've wondered how to do a macro that switches out weapons.

I actually just have each weapon as a hotkey- then I just hit the key to switch weapons. This gives me the flexibility to go back and forth as needed rather than a macro that goes only from hammer to sword or vice versa. I'm 2-4-0-2 on the tree and still use the hammer sparringly, but do go back and forth. Will be throwing the cleaver into the mix for experimentation and variety.

    Good luck to us all!
