This weekend I was grinding in a group. I missed out on the good part, but apparently there was a BH in the group I was in and he took out his mark as we were grinding! Wish I would have seen it. There were apparently other BHs in the group besides myself and they didn't like the fact. I thought it was a great tactic and after some more practice may look to use it. Afterall, BHs are not knights in shining armor.

Yup, I'm sure you'll keep getting invited to grinding groups if the word gets out you want to join just so that you can kill a group member.

Actually, for a period of time I was doing this as a challenge to myself - Get a mission and head for the planet, get into a group and see exactly HOW close I could get to my target. Mind you, I wasn't doing this for the Kill or the Reward - Just as a challenge to see if I could get within 10m or so without a /duel check.

Kinda like a hunter trying to sneak up on an animal and touch it, and that means they've succeeded.

BH are ment to be Sneaky, Underhanded, Cunning & Nasty...

Its a trait...!!

Theres nothing wrong with being sneaky if theres an advantage in it for you.

As far as i'm concearned, Jedi Use somedirty tactics of their own, they House Hide, they get their buds to Close public buildings to make them ontouchable, they have a few little "Legal" exploits of their own that allow them to ID a BH befor he acctually gets withing range & initiates combat.

So any Dirty tricks a BH can come up with is fair game. It's a Jedi's job to be always on guard & if he's too dumb or too slow, tough luck.

However, to be fair, Although I use these tactics myself on occasion, I have never hunted Same faction jedi or if the Jedi turns out to be an OK dude, I will never hunt the same one again. I do not Res Kill & I do not talk trash to Victims/Victors. If a jedi Beats me, I congratulate him/her "even if they do takl trash to me" - follow those rules & you won't make too many enemies.

Its an old trick and the only one I wont do; The reasonNO jedi grinding group will ever knowingly included a poor strugling B/h just trying to get his lvl 80; I am grinding FS pts and I NEVER display my BH tittle and very few on my server know I still am thk to dumb stunts like that. But, its a kill or be killed world so I quess even if it **edit**s over the rest of usyou guys will continue....no wonder i see less and less MBH....no new ones can find anyne that will invite them to grind. Yes they will be, 'on guard' so dont expect any of your new player friends to ever get an invite again on that server. I keep seeing more n more posts, 'im leaving BH' I really doubt anyone will be around to replace them soon.

When CU first went live I was stil MBH. The DWB was suddenly "the place to grind" for Jedi. So, I decided to take some missions and see what hapens.

Well, I get there and see my marks Swoop sitting outside by itself. I could tell he was already inside. So... /cover /snipershot, bike dead. I wait a bit and wander towards the entrance. I'm standing there when a group invites me to join them. Now I had already been able to /tar my mark and found out he was in this same guild. So of course I join this group.

We make our way into the DWB. Every couple of minutes I do another /tar on my mark and see that we're getting closer to him. Then it happens, the perfect oppurtunity. We're in a large square room with 3 doors. The door we came in and 1 door on each wall east and west. I see my mark is headed down the hall straight for me. I /prone, ready my big T21. He comes through the door, 3 shots later he's on the ground wondering who just smacked him.

I walk over to him, I notice of course he's Imperial (so am I) and he's just a low-grade Paddie. I decided to let him live. He gets up, I give him a few tells. "Y'know the DWB is nothing but Vis right? You know I had you Dead to Rights. You better be more careful young one." Then the entire group (of his guildies btw) laugh hysterically at him.

Now, I know, many pureists would get upset that I didn't kill him, or give him exp debt, but at the time things were bugged due to dbl exp week and he woulda lost about 700k exp. I didn't think that was fair. Not too mention, for me Bounty Hunting was all about the hunt and for me, that was probably my favorite hunt yet. I infiltrated his own guild group and caught him completely off guard without causing a thousand hate tells. I never had quite as much fun hunting after that again, that was truly a good time.

There is no peace, there is anger.
There is no fear, there is power.
There is no death, there is immortality.
There is no weakness, there is the Dark Side. I am the Heart of Darkness.
I know no fear, but rather I instil it in my enemies. I am the destroyer of worlds.
I know the power of the Dark Side. I am the fire of hate.
All the Universe bows before me, I pledge myself to the Darkness.
For I have found true life, in the death of the light.

Great post Veg.......butreally shows my point that remember our conductaffects up and coming MBH. Be sneaky and dirty sure, but not so stupid you wreck our whole profession. I probably will get flamed for admitting i shoot them afk and lD....I could explain a million reasons why i do that but wont kill them in my own group.

Killing a Jedi who is AFK or LD is decidely worse than sneaking into their grinding group under the guise of "grinding force xp" or "regrinding a template" Your logic doesn't make sense to me....

A BH who let's a Jedi live is remembered longer than the one that didn't. He probably told his guild, who each told a few non-guild members that you had him "dead to rights" as you say, in 3 shots.

If/when they see you around the galaxy they will remember they heard your name, and something good about it, which will put them slightly at ease, making them slighly more vulnerable to a surprise attack.

Often times for me though, it's not the deathblow that gets me going.... it's engineering a situation in which the Jedi cannot escape or win. It's the "thrill of the hunt". Win or lose, I don't really care. I had a "good time"

Ok let me explain that logic since I knew I'd get called on it; If I join his group.....Ive entered an implied agreement that I would help him and the group. Maybe you dont see it that way and thats the problem; youve given your word to be his ally just by accepting his invite. If you dont Bro...im amazed you still get any invites at all.

When I go to a terminal and pull him and hunt him solo....I have made no such unwritten agreement...so if I stumble on him afk or LD thats just his dumb luck as I see it; So I let him live huh?...and know all jedi will just go afk or ld from now on to avoid death....I dont think so!

To ME, it's situational. If I take a mission, and I find my mark AFK in a public place - I'm sorry, but I'm going to collect my payday. If my mark is battling me and goes LD in the midst of the fight - I am collecting my payday.

BUT.

If I get to my mark and they are ALREADY LD, I will not attack. There'a marked difference between somebody totally unable to attack back, and someone who loses (Or disconnects on purpose) in the midst of battle.
