Thread: You want balance? Make MBH on par with Jedi Master

the key here is to have numerous bh templates that can do well. i ama pistoleer and like the style of it over the actual effectiveness. i just can't get myself to be a bh you poisons and paralyzes my opponent. i can guaranteee that a win for me feels a little different then a win for a mcm,rifle bh. i am not flaming just stating that a mbh profession on it's own should be viable.


personally i feel that it is time to make the jedi profession on par with the other professions. too much is being ruined in the game.

If the devs want Bounty Hunters to be the counter measure for a large Jedi population, then they need to make a Master Bounty Hunter on par with a Jedi Master. This is supposed to be a one-on one confrontation, so make it one. Nerfing Jedi is not the answer, I don't think that nerfing is the answer to ANY on the current game problems. With the combat upgrade, Bounty Hunters lost most of the advantage of having a "strategy" to taking out a Jedi. Now it's just a matter of damage vs. healing. If SOE wants the Jedi to be hunted, and they want Bounty Hunters to feel this is a viable option, then give the Bounty Hunter a fair chance at beating a Jedi Master in each fight. Yes, there will be times when padawans are taken out quickly by a MBH, but how many times have you seen a Jedi take out some poor soul that didn't realize that special forces made him attackable? Give Bounty Hunters a snare that actually inhibits movement. Give us a decent root.Give us abilities that are specifically geared toward hunting and fighting Jedi. Most Bounty Hunters in the Star Wars Galaxy are loners. Give us the ability to be a solo class. If that requires making the progression to Master Bounty Hunter harder, so be it. Should it be as bad as the progression to Jedi? No. There are supposed to be more Bounty Hunters than Jedi. Has the irony struck anyone elsethat the current feeling about Jedi seems to be at a point where Palpatine's edict in Episode III would gain a similar response on the servers (cheers and applauds)? Give us the ability to go one on one with a Jedi. Give us balance.

I can beat jedi a good enough percentage of the time... maybe if you can't you need a change of tactics

LOL. I beat Jedi a good percentage of the time as well. My point is that since SOE is trying to make this the "CONFRONTATION" that they need to put us on par with MSL and Master Defender, etc. Tactics have become less of a factor as well, even for the Jedi...

I've read nothing but the title of the topic. So you want to be after 3 days of grinding as strong as someone after 6 months or more? lol

So let me get this straight...


You want MBHto be as powerful as a Ranked Jedi master(when FRS comes back up eventually), BUT in your opinion the grind to MBH shouldn't be as long as the Jedi's one?


Then what's the point in being a Jedi?Having fun holding a glowy stick?

By the way you already had balance when devs removed the lightsaber damage type pre CU, and when they removed our 85 percent block, and when they removed the lightsaber toughness from the technique branch, and when they added a 6 second timer on our heals,....


The list goes on and on.


Jedi has been nerfed to oblivion with the CU, whereas Bounty hunters have become more powerul.

I agree fully. There should be numerous viable MBH templates.

Master defenders arent that bad(at least for a CM)

Also means they probably wont have force run to escape when they have 0 mind left to heal my DOTs with

I agree basically with you I don't think making them equal is the answer. But just for info a largegroup of the Jedis out there got that strong with a paypal transaction.

Well that wouldn't be balanced according to the context of the Devs "Jedi are 1.5 times more powerful" statement when the CU came out.


Now if they were to take all the MBH's, make them Novices, and put the Investigation XP requirements to 175k, 250k, 350k, and 450k per box then you might be onto something... Provided that after mastering BH that you hafta go through a similar FRS-style PvP system till you reach the equivalent rank.
