Thread: Invest xp
I am wondering this myself. I was planning on going with the 10k cap first, and then leveling, but maybe since this new patch increase, it might be worth the hassle of using droids.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
And please do not flame me for looking for an easier shortcut. I only want to get MBH, and will drop it almost instantly. I have been about halfway done for over two months, but want a change, and would like to finish it off, since it was such work to earn in the first place. I figured it would be the last time i ever explore this profession, and do not want to return to it (holocron willing) again.
jinro'
I trained with 7k into Investigation II. I have only completed around 5 mission since then (I don't power game). I am at 2.3k right now - I have another 23 mission left for Investigation III
(Then only another 50 marks left for Master)
I could do 3-4 Invest 0 missions an hour, now I'd be lucky if I can do 2.
At the time that would be about 300xp vs. 150-200. Take into account expenses and you make a bunch more money as well.
The day before they upped the xp I was disgusted and I dropped Carbine IV and Inv 1 and 2. (ouch)
I read about the changes and went back to it. Still had 4200+ investigation xp so I needed 5800 to hit the 10k.
I had one hour where I completed TEN novice missions. Thats right... TEN! Generally I got 6 per hour or so.
Secret? The Coronet terminal near the informant. I would sit there with pet out, terminal open, datapad open. Get mission, click informant, check distance (i have that option where your waypoint distances all show on the right side very cool from a couple months ago). If distance was over 1km I aborted (eventually I went to 1400m).
In that magical hour I had maybe 6 or 7 that were within 200-300m and one that actually attacked me before I stood up he was so close lol!
There is no faster way to get investigation xp. Stick with the 10k then dive right into invest II.
As for invest II getting the 6k to invest III I spent Saturday running the 17 or so missions needed. It took me the better part of the day (think I broke to eat and do laundry and I helped a friend for a couple hours hunting Holocrons) but I was extremely lucky that it took maybe 10-11 hours of pure mission time. I think I had 1 bugged mission and thats it! Only 3 aborted missions (all endor no lok) and only 1 trip to Dathomir. I had very few double-hop trips (naboo-corellia-yavin etc).
However my luck has changed for Investigation III. My first couple missions I was fine. Last night in 4 hours I completed only 2 missions! My first mission the Mark was invisible on Dathomir. Usually I can run around and find him within 200m maybe a little more of the WP, generally in the direction the Mark was headed. This did not work I spent an hour looking for him. Shuttled from one outpost to the other relaunched seeker and no change. Aborted.
2nd mission was Dathomir no problem. Third mission Corellia (yea) but I shuttled all over since the Mark teleported on me. Finally found him in Tyrena stuck in a wall. I could see his whole body most of the time he was only 5% stuck in the wall. I spent the better part of 45 minutes dragging CorSec agents as close as I could to AOE and it did not work. I tried attacking from almost every angle and distance within 64m (usually works) without any luck. He was stuck in a wall inside the Cantina. Exterior walls I have no trouble with.
Anyway 4th mission Rori no problem.
Point being, so far at Investigation III I would have to think its roughly 1 hour per mission when you factor in the bugged missions. I can generally go round trip on a completed mission within 45 minutes, but a couple wasted missions ups your average to an hour per.
