I've got some capped pistols and was wondering what is recommended for slicing. Speed which will increase the DPS or Critical Hit?

It can be pretty critical.
LOL
I have a capped HLR (both for SAC and Damage) I used my customization for a speed slice....
I like the fact that I can just keep laying down the fire..... my modified speed is now 1.32

Depends on your modified speed, personally I believe DPS is the most useless thing in game, and does not mean anything. If I was a weaponsmith selling guns I would speed slice it to get the DPS up so people would buy it. Now back to how you should slice it, if you can get your modified speed at 1.25, or under then it is pointless to speed slice. Best bet is a critical chance slice.

go with critical bro
my capped damage / sac elite carbine is 10% critical sliced.
And i see a lot and I mean a lot of +Critical+ while fighting jedi.

I went with a 301 slice (T3 speed, T1critical)on my featherweight FWG5, but I'm starting to wish I would have went all critical since I burn action so fast.
Un-pupped it's 960ish damage, 1.73 speed, 82 SAC. Base DPS 390 something if I remember right.

Put it this way: when was the last time you saw a Critical Hit CA/AA for sale?

I just got an elite and the stats with a 32% damage 6% speed pup are...
553-1186
2.29 attack
1.42 modified speed
74 sac
610 modded dps
I think im gonna be using this damage pup in the future so with this pup what should I slice it.. crit or speed? or should I do a combination? I also have +25 carb speed and +19 general ranged speed mods... not sure how much they help but they dont affect my mod speed (at least on the gun) Ty for input
