Thread: Suggestion to stop Your target is not online

This is a huge issue for us BH, most jeid on all servers are exploiting the droids and being able to hunt w/o any chance of droids being able to give us BH a WP to their location.
A solution - When a BH takes a mission on a player jedi, that jedi automatically has that BH on his friends list ( BUT hidden - the BH name doesnt show up on his/her list) the jedi cant see the name of the player but the idea is to be able to /findfriend and get their WP, i mean we DESERVE to have working droids and their WP in a matter of seconds / minutes, an issue like this would take a long time for the devs to fix and i think this would make it a faster fix before an actual patch comes.

For some reason, until this is fixed, I feel like I have mastered Bounty Hunter for nothing.
It's not just that I can't hunt Jedi, but that I can't hunt players. It's not so fun going and killing NPC bounties over and over (already did this to get to master), and it's a well-known fact that there are many other types of missions and methods of making credits that are faster than NPC bounties.In the intro to SWG, it says that bounty hunters are supposed to prosper in this time of chaos (the GCW), if there are so many other ways of making credits faster, how are we prospering? Prospering in my mind means we reap good rewards for our work, if not credits - then maybe special items.
In any case, I want this 'target offline'bug fixed as much as the rest of you, I'm just not sure when they're going to acknowledge this problem. Recently they did an update for Jedi visibility, but I have yet to see any changes on the malfunctioning tracking droids.

I don't think they do temporary fixes like that. If they do there may be problems taking out the "temporary" fix later, so I don't think it will be implemented. Good idea though, it would work. I just don't think they'd bother doing it, knowing they'd have to reverse it later.

Hate to break it to you but not all Jedi are exploiting. I have been on the terminals for 7 weeks straight and counting, even after not playing for a couple 3-5 day stretch's, and this is before the latest patch they made it 3 weeks to clear visibility.
I never log off / on in order to prevent BH's from tracking me and my missions almost always come up as target offline. Also my missions are also always worth 226k, but I am a 250 skill point Knight and should be worth 250k but they always come up 226k.
The whole player bounty system is screwed up just like the rest of this game and SOE has proven they can't fix any of it.

Why should they be in your friends list? The current bug makes bounty hunting more like hunting... not just pressing a button to find the jedi. It weeds out the ones who are just doing it for the greifing and harrasing opportunities from the ones who actually want to be bounty hunters.

using friendlist to find someone you want to kill is exploiting. bh has to use their droids!
the issues with droids is what has to be fixed.

Just ban thejedi who do alot of /logout..Exploit isexploit, and SOE should take action against that..It's a shame people can't play games anymore by normal rules..If you are affraid to die dont play the game!

most jedi do it without being aware of this exploit. They just log over to their alt doc/entertainer to buff up.

Sure, they logout to there alt to buff every 15 minutes

yeah not all Jedi are exploiters BUT an extremely large proportion ARE. i have over 200 jedi on my friend list and i would estimate that of the approximately 50 that are online at any one time on average, atleast 30-40 of them are logging off regularly, could be every fifteen minutes, thirty mins, forty five mins, or an hour... how do i know this? well, all the yellow text saying darth bob went offline then 30seconds later darth bob is online messages are really annoying. yes, i could remove this annoyance by not having the status sent to me, but better still would be for SOE to fix this problem.
chances are that if all these jedi are willing to use the exploit listed above, then they probably wouldnt think twice about using the exploit listed below.
the one other problem that should be fixed with a matter of urgency is how SOE for a long time now have known about Jedi gettingtheir lightsabers sliced. the droid problem is just an annoying exploit, but the LS slicing is blatant exploiting and cheating. i always believed that SOE's stance on exploiters was to ban them. But it appears that for Jedi this is not the case. How could they tell who was cheating? well, i would imagine, as this game is alot of numbers in a database, it would be possible to search the field holding information on whether a weapon was sliced and thus easily track down the Jedi who are using this exploit. i did hear that SOE were supposed to be banning any Slicer or Jedi involved in these actions but from what i have heard, the exploit still exists and nothing has been done about the players who use this exploit whether Jedi or Slicer.
message to SOE: please act accordingly and deal with these exploiters.

ha ha ha. not true. (a) how do you buff someone who is LD or offline and (b) if it is on another account, there is no need to log off and (c) nothing like that can be achieved in the 20-30secs they are offline for. it is for one reason and one reason only. to stop BH tracking them.

lol I think your above statement falls under the "DUH" factor...I dont think there is a person here who thinks every Jedi is Exploiting. Its just a game breaking "BUG" that is being exploited, period! Not sure about your logic on how much your worth, Not one of you Jedi Out there is Worth what they ask for on the Terminals. "my I win button means I should be worth at least 450k". lol give mea break man.
no that wasnt just directed at you, and yes there are just as many BH's whining out there as Jedi, but at least they have a "REAL" reason too when Jedi Shouldnt Exist in the game in the first place.

Now before the Jedi hoards flame me for generalizing. Im not... I hunt Jedi every night...
For every 10 marks I take at least 7 are hiding in homes for hours... or logging in and off like mad... every 10 minutes...
Lots of them will just stay logged in, in they're houses macro'ing to stay online... JUST TO WASTE OUR TIME...
I wish the devs would just BOOT the lot of em from the game. Now that would be PermaDeath...
Way to avoid xp loss guys... betcha they're logging your names like they did the dupe exploiters and I betcha yer gonna love it when they ban you from the game.
