Thread: BH Honour

In my time as a BH, I've come across a few jedi who have been LD. I've also hunted many jedi who have been hiding on Kashyyyk, or in houses, or cloaked AFK. Despite my frustration at an incompletable mission, I still hold myself to such a high standard that I will not hunt somebody that I know I can easily defeat. It just isn't fun for me. If I know I can defeat them, its no different than running up to a lair PreCU, and turning on the spin macro. Yes, its xp, and yes its a few thousand credits, butfor my piece of mind, I cannot bring myself to kill an LD jedi. For my honour, I do not get people sending me hate tells, merely a pleasant congratulations for winning a good clean fight... and I enjoy it so much more.
Am I the only person that thinks like this? Are you an honourable Bounty Hunter, or will you do anything for a quick buck? Both types are perfectly fair, and both types are legally supported within the game. I'd simply like to start a discussion on this topic.
Well here comes the catch: I am also a jedi. This morning, I logged in (after a successful /logout, I might add) to find myself in the clone center. Much to my chagrin, I find that I have lost roughly 280k xp (not bad for my first appearance on the terminals) I have of course, submitted a CSR report, because I blame a bugged /logout more than the BH who found me an easy target.
Okay, here's my take.
I have two characters. One is a straight and narrow Imperial. Roles plays the part, acts the part, stays within a strict pseudo-military code. My alt is the anti-thesis. He's a BH, a rogue, a "scoundrel" as Leia might put it. I enjoy the alter-ego aspect from a role playing point of view. From that role playing point of view, his "loyalties" to his current guild is due to the fact that they "pay him well". He is an opportunist. He is a villian. He will attempt to prey upon his mark at the mark's most disadvantageous moment. He role plays as such. I'll give you an example:
Took a mark that was found in Tharen. Drove there from a town nearby. Arrived in Tharen and noted a massive PvP (Rebs vs Imps) battle underway. Glow-sticks-a-plenty. I also noted that my mark was fighting on the Imperial side. I slither in and start shouting things like "Kill the Oppressive Imperials!" "Down with the Empire" while working my way into the Rebel ranks, hopefully appearing to be part of this malestrom. I spot my mark. I slink to a nearby GH and climb the stairs for a better vantage. I begin my attack. Before my mark was aware that he was being attacked from his flank, he was on his back. I ran up for the DB, ran back to my awaiting swoop and sped off, leaving the battle behind.
Okay, so not exactly "honorable", but my point is, this is how I chose to role play my BH Alt. My Imperial (main character) is straight-backed, rigid, militaristic. My BH alt is a refreshing role play change for me.
Just one person's example.

i would kill every mark no matter if AFK, LD or something else, but im only a little BH with less skills and money, so i would kill everything. Maybe my point of view is changing when im MBH or even have a better template, but for now i cant risk to lose money only coz im too nice to my target.
ps: i didnt ever hunt jedis, coz my lvl is too low.

As I'm building up a BH myself, I concur. Actually I've said this in game to a padawan having a real rough time...
a) I will try not to use tricks like FD as first attack, waiting for a jedi to be low on health when doing pve and so on, bh squad ganking... That's just not my idea of fun.
b) Nor will I go for LD jedi. AFK is a different question alltogether. I don't play AFK...
c)When encountering my mark I will letthe mark know I'm after him/herand give them a chance when I'm close to fight it out 1-on-1 (after tracking). At that point a jedi has a few choices. Either accepting and knowing that I'm after them, or laugh/cry/whine/run/use safehouse/other exploits (like hiding on kashyyk)... If a jedi chooses to go to the 1-on-1, it will be a fair fight. I will use all the tricks I know and I suppose the jedi will do the same.
As BH a jedi may offer credits ofcourse to avert their pending death
If a jedi however choose to do the dishonorable thing, then I won't be treating them honorable the next time.Option a) and b) willbe voided. No amount of credit offered will be accepted either, and I will hunt the jedi until I can kill.
