Thread: New idea for BH rewards and declining Jedi population

Hey all, don't know if this has been thought of before or not but here is an idea for a new reward system for BH and possibly something that may help reduce the Jedi population. The one thing I can't stand as a MBH is the lack of reward for taking down a Jedi. I mean the thrill of the hunt and the adrenalin rush are good as well as the satisfaction of taking down another player but I have always felt that after it was over I have nothing to show for it. My proposal is this:
Why not after dispatching a Jedi could we loot their best lightsaber from their corpse. Wouldn't it be great to have a lightsaber to display on your trophy wall? Maybe even be able to use the saber for ourselves, but since we cannot get the certification for them we can not use them as weapons, after all Han Solo was not certified to use a saber but he did a good job of slicing a Taun Taun LOL Another advantage to this is that without lightsabers Jedi may cease to play that character. Enough deaths and they will be reduced to playing with training sabers :smiley very-happy: or having to keep creating lightsabers thus having to grind to get pearls or shelling out cash to get new crystals.
Of course therse are just thoughts not even really worthy of recognation. And I know the Jedi will cry foul at this and they are entitled to their opinion just as I am. I am sure other people will not like this as well. But share your thought either way.

No, the saber costs too much to make. I wouldn't mind getting a broken replica or a lil notch in our bio or something

Like I said, just a thought. Of course they dont have to spend the money to make a new lightsaber, again they could just quit playing, thus reducing the population

You know anything to have something to show for it.

My first reaction to seeing the collecting of lightsabres for decorations brought a huge smile to my face. I know I would make a shrine to it myself.
But after the nice thoughts wore off I was struck with just one thought NO.
Look the point you are bringing up is taking alot more than just a light sabre from a jedi. Do you know how much money and effort really goes into one of those things? Not to mention that alot have ADK's on them. It is not like stealling some 100k blaster from someone. You are talking about hours and hours of work and millions and millions of credits you just took. This is on top of how much xp they just lost for you killing them. I do not think our job is to grief them into leaving the game. Our job should be to slow them down.

cool, idea but the lightsabername should include the name of the jedi who owned it before, so u dont forget which saber whas from which jedi.

I have to agree with fyreblayd. While a trophy would be nice to have, the idea of looting another persons valuable possession is too much like griefing. Would you be happy to have yourADK'd Krayted T21 (replace with your weapon of choice)looted if you lost? Well however good it is,most sabres cost more.
We are NOT population control - we are merely lvl80 mobs that add a level of difficulty to the grind to make it APPEAR that attaining a Jedi template is difficult. We have to accept that we are merely a minor inconvenience during the 2 weeks or so it takes to grind a full template, then we become just a bit of amusement for the FTs.
I play BH because it's fun and I love the PvP, not because I have a grudge or want to grief a whole profession. While there are some real idiots with glowbats there are also some really sound people with Jedi toons. I'd hate to think that anyone quit the game because of my actions, I just could not be a BH if that was the case. I dont feel guilty about 150k of xp becasue that can be ground back in a day so is no real loss to the person palying the Jedi character

Now that's veryodd.Every other BH in the game gets paid when they DB their mark. I'd /bug that one if I were you.

True we do get paid for taking out the mark, but a lot of players are into the millions of credits by now with nothing of interest to purchase. I wouldn't be surprised to see a few into the billions of credits by now. Just something cool to have to display would be nice. I mean there aren't many other profession that actually play to PVP.

Allowing Jedi to lose skill boxes is a much better solution imo Jedi would have to either be extremely careful as they should or constantly grind xp. Either way Jedi would be more rare than they are now.

Also I would liike to clarify as well. I would hate to have someone quit the game because of something I did in game. And yes I would hate to have something of mine taken away because someone killed me. I mean imagine if NPC's could loot our corpse. So thats why i agreed with the post to have a broken replicas of the saber added to our inventory, or even the badge.
I know I have put a lot of work into the game since it came out and realize looting something from A jedi is a bad idea and apologize to any I may have offended.

I say you get a expert crafted replica (maybe u couldbe allowed to pay crafters to craft them for u)with the jedi's name on the saber.Hang it up on your wall in a line showing your jedi hunting career as a BH.
