if you have gotten in range of a mark and he's spawned on the map as a target, he wont' move anymore, ime. had a mark stay stationary in the middle of lok through a server reset, for a couple of days.

For the past 3 days I've been taking NPC missions without success.

Is anyone else having a tonn of bother?

I'm finding my mark warps 2-3K as soon as I get within 2-500m of him, or the the WP is in an NPC city but when I get there he's turned into a commoner. That's happened to me 3 times in a row now. Clicky

The only one I did catch up with was regening health faster than I could dish it out.

Any one else having this problem?

happened with me in kor vella tonight, sure is a piss off.

the good thing about those missions is if they fail, your right next to the starport, so, it could be worse

Those happen.

The issue with them "jumping" is common, you just happened to time your arrival with one of the jumps (that's how they tend to move)
The issue with them "turning into a commoner" is actually false. The mark isn't always where the waypoint is. Once you get close the waypoint can easily be off by 80 meters or more. You may have to do some wandering around to find them.

The warping thing is just the way marks, act from when you launch you probot your mark is stationary for about 8 minutes then warps 3000m then starts moving in about 180m jumps, been like that all the time ive been a BH. I tend to look at where my mark is how far it is from me, from the nearest shuttle port etc and then decide whether to kill a few minutes to let it get over the warp or head for them at full throttle. My general rule of thumb is if I am within 3000m of my mark I go for them if I can get within 2000m by shuttle I go for it, other wise I wait around 5 minutes then launch a seeker and start tracking them.

The commoner mark, in my experience isnt what you think it is. when a mark hits a town area the mark can be anywhere within 250m of the waypoint given, the commoner was not your mark, the commoner was just standing at your marks waypoint, A good bit of huntingupto 250m from that waypoint will give you your mark.

As for the regen issue, yep thats the new style marks.

Rather coincidental then that the past 3 missions I've had have been commoners right under the waypoint. I do a full sweep around the WP each time using a /tar NPCname spam and there's never anything. Sure I've got to a WP out in the sticks and he's been near the WP, but when they get to a city it seems to be different. And WHY the hell are they not at the WP? That's obviously a bug that needs fixed.

I've seen the waypoints jump up to 100m away while I'm standing there looking at the mark, they never seem to be on target. The /tar name does work wonders, may take a few but their usually around.

My last commoner mark (post pub 24) was at the entrance closest to the starport door at the MO on Dantooine, the actual mark was found swimming near the island (or opposite shore, not sure which it was near the land onthe opposite sideon the lake out the other side of the MO. Thats just how far away the mark can be from the wp in a built up area, I am assuming this is something built in for a reason to try to prevent marks spawning inside static objects etc. That mark turned out to be my first of the new crazy regen boss marks.

/tar mark name, didnt work at that distance either I just rode around till I found him.

The jumping thing is normal.

The Commoner thng, I am yet to experience.

But I have noticed a Massive increase in the number of Marks that are Spawnning inside objects.

I had 12 out of 15 missions in the last 24hrs, where the marks were inside other objects & were un-reachable.

To make matters worse, Using pets to dislodge them dose not seem to be working anymore.

One mark I had, was spawnned with his left leg inside a small rock (upto the knee), I could not target him, could not get my pet to attack him and couold not get him to move on after leaving the area in the hope that he would continue to move & spawn elsewhere (this has on occasion worked for me befor).

Something is definately up with NPC BH Marks atm!!!

Your mark does not turn into a commoner. The mark should be somewhere near the waypoint usually about can range up to 120m-200m from the waypoint.

However...

Considering commoners are mostly around cities, your mark might have left already and you will have to drop the mission. BH marks have always been equipped to resemble real life. So sometimes you will see them heading toa starport/shuttleport. If they are able to reach this, they will disappear (resembling their escape). At this point you will have to drop the mission. Their waypoint will still be there, but they won't. Since this happens in cities, more often than not, you will find a commoner or some other npc around the waypoint.

Hope that helps.
