1. Find Jedi
2. Shoot Jedi (preferrably in the face)
3. Repeat step 2 until Jedi stops moving.

lol, although I enjoyed that...
Seriously, to the Original Poster, practice against guildmates, friends, and as you get better duel anyone you can. Become comfortable with what your moves do AND what you want to do with them. When fighting anyone, especially Jedi, you need to have a plan about how you want the fight to go. Control you opponent as much as possible so that they are reacting to your moves and not the other way around. Flexibility is the key, and also remember FOODS ARE YOUR FRIENDS, learn what they do and how they help you and what you need to do and what you are fighting. Melee defense foods, ranged acc. foods and action buffing foods are good for a start.

What's that? Go overt and within 5 minutes, you will be ganked by a squad of Jedi. Seriously, what good is that?
IMO, there is no "way-to-PvP." You need to learn on your own. Get some foods/spice, some healing, and go duel people. Experience is the best teacher.

Being pretty new to swg and bh myself,I was wondering ,do you take the foods while fighting or just before, how long do most foods last, and what are the top 5 foods and drinks.
I'd check the chef forums, they have a big list of those specific foods, I can't list all of them off the top of my head (I'm rather sleepy). Umm but I have a few for you to remember:
Crispic (ranged acc)
Vesg. (melee def) good for melee attackers
Breath of Heaven (nice regs, short duration)
Blob Candy (all important Action regen and nice duration)
Umm other than that up to you and what your temp demands....
Umm Booster Blue is good, I think that Pixie lowers Action Regen... or the other way around lol I'm not much for using drugs...

The secret about food is to know what stack and what do not.
Bofa Treat and Blob Candy adds to health and action regen and usually last 50+ minutes, that is a good start to have before a fight, pvp or duels dont matter.
There are food that halves your stim time to 30 seconds so you can heal yourself 1400 points in half time, steak reduces attacks etc.
You need to examine the food and then learn to stack it and use it in fights when needed. Also always have Pixie and moen ready if you need either more action/health or in the case of moen more health/mind. Those will keep you going for 15 minutes, downer is about 20 seconds then pop another one in.
Toy around with food/drinks and drugs and learn a combo that works just for you.
