800,000 people already went their way while you went yours....meanwhile 3 mil more people tried wow...and 1.8 mil are still playing it....we need small things like this fixed....not workarounds.
So it seems WoW is the type of game for you. Loot Junkies. Want the quick fix every second to get the lewts. Man, you just dont know how good you have it. A profession that gets to have VIP access to farm their own loot and not have to camp or wait in line. And yet its still not good enough.
Next complaint will be, "we need teleporters to get there faster, and all marks should spawn in player cities or NPC ones so we dont have to travel".
I see nothing wrong with the current system having some minor inconvienences with simple work-a-rounds.
I doubt 800K or whatever number you are pulling out without logistical facts went their way cause of BH mark spawns

for the record...I'm a Jedi, primarily, my unlock slot is a chef/be, and my second account is a BH...this is the only mmorpg I play and like most that are still here, the only reason I play it is because it's star wars
it's nice how you jump out and tell people to go play wow instead, I'm sure they appreciate it, however it does nothing to help our situation....the bh mission spawn problem shares the same root problem as the theme park mission and the paddy trials missions (and knight if they bring em back in the same form)
800k didn't go there way specificly because of BH mission mark spawns, but they did go their way because of hundreds of little issues like this that still havn't been fixed.
this game is performing far, far below it's potential....partially because it's been rushed in every stage of development, and partially because there seems to be a very low standard for quality control.
you say you see nothing wrong with being forced to use walkarounds to counter sloppy coding...let me ask you...if you went out and bought the ep III dvd when it comes out, and it turns out that they goofed, and the FBI warning which you cannot skip or fast forward through, is displayed for 30 minutes instead of 15-30 seconds....would the "walkaround" of putting in the disc 30 minutes earlier than the time at which you desire to watch it be acceptable? now...what if there was a similiar pause between each scene added on top of this..of course, you can use your remote to fastforward through these breaks...but would that be an acceptable walkaround? then you get to the end....and the picture goes away....it turns out that it will only be displayed properly if you start the last scene immediatly from the chapter menu after loading the disc, but before watching any other chapters......acceptable? of course not.
what's worse than those that came and were lost are the millions whocrave a star wars mmorpg....but when doing research onSWG, saw the reviews and talked to friends who had it and after hearing all this, decided to just stay away.....every little tweak brings us a bit closer to good reviews, and sends somebody out happy....happy people tell friends...and once in a while that results in a new player...."workarounds" just piss people off...true this is just one small issue, but the underlying root has affected practicly everyone of any profession....it would be a fairly simple and extremely well recieved fix.

HERE IS HOW TO AVOID MARKS SPAWNING IN WATER:
- Look at your planetary map
- If the mark waypoint if over water - go make a coffee
- Come back to find the waypoint has moved several hundred meters
this don't always work, you have to get close to the mark before it moves.

There is an easy fix... a very easy one...
Look at the map (ctrl-v) if the mark is on the edge or in water launch a seeker...
If the seeker finds the mark and it is still in a 'bad' location wait until the seeker loses track and then launch another...
The mark will have moved and then the mission can be completed...
The key is not to get closer than 500m or the mark most likely will NOT move...
I have done this every time this situation arises and I have never had to cancel a mission.
It works over 95pct of the time for me. I am quite content with those odds.

Hang on there soldier. You jumped out with the whole WoW brigade first. As if WoW is so bug free. Try visitng their forums as well, and you get the same types of complaints. What WoW has going for it, isa loot junkies game (aka Diablo 2 addicts). Just because they have all of those subscriber's, does not mean they are doing everything right. Its been a proven fact that Traditional Fantasy type MMOs are far more popular than Sci-Fi Fantasy ones. That is why even the mighty WoW cant even catch Lineage.
Its all about demographics, not /bugs or /workarounds.
It just seems if nothing is 100% all the time, well then, just quit gaming all together. I would love to see a perfect bug-free, work-a-round free game. Especially when there are plenty of BH players in here getting the workaroudns to work fine, and not slow them down any more than when there used to be no mounts or player cities.
I got a bounty on Endor, 2.7k for the Smuggler Outpost. Exact point was (-451 3809)
There was no water in sight, far away from the edge but still my mission got incomplete.
As soon as my probdroid found him I went to Endor, when I landed I sent out a seeker and I got 3-4 updates before I came 267m from him.
Then mission was incomplete. The only thing that was "unusual" was that the bounty spawned in a old, forgotten, Battlefield.

had this happen too .. apparantly they have removed everything about battlefields EXCEPT those silly sky ribbons and their abilities to make BH missions go incomplete.
