This post made sense of all the whines out there, and highlighted the points.

Iagree with everything there, and i'm not supprised those alike to kamaz (jedi or the oh stop whining would probbaly play an hour or day or something pretty much resulting they have no idea what the true annoyances are).

Only trouble is, even the devs know SWG is sinking or is just keeping above water, if they loose the happy l33t jedi they will be in trouble, so even though these are vallied posts, the devs I think won't change the "jedi problem" for fear of subscription loss.

The moment the happy fat cat jedi have their easy living taken away, they will bolt.

I've been an mbh since i started playing, and never actually hunted a jedi, just never interested me, and I used to be on the side of the Jedi. However, after a while I began to realize that Jedi should never have been implemented into the game. I will accept the fact it takes a lot of time to become a Jedi, however, it is not difficult, it does not take more skill than any other profession, it just takes more time. Now in the earlier stages a few Jedi popping into pvp in Theed or whatever and cleaning house, ok damn a jedi, where the hell did he come from? Now, it is, this guy isn't a Jedi, why the hell is he overt? There is so many now it is usually suicide to go overt if not Jedi, leaving most regular combat profs as basically pve toons. Now look to the future, I went to the village the other day as I'm unlocking fs skills to give me something to do(never will i go Jedi), and what did I see? Hordes of players, most which will be going Jedi. Look to the future of SWG when a majority of players are Jedi, and since they are essentially separate from the normal crafting economy, other than say, chef foods and maybe some clothing to attach their elite ls tapes to every few months. What will happen to WS's and AS's, and most the other non-combat profs when less than 25% of the players are non-Jedi combat professions. You can say i'm a whiner and flame me all you want, but im looking at things from a pragmatic point of view, I dont blame the players that go Jedi, I blame the devs. Not many wouldn't want to spend a lil extra time grinding fs and jedi exp during a few months that you would be running around killing things anyways, and become a profession stronger than a vast majority of regular templates, with no longer having to spend credits on such nuisances such as armor and weapons. Face it, most people dont like dying in a game, they want to be "uber," and the best way to do so is to become a Jedi, and what's going to stop them? a heavy grind? a grind that still takes less time to finish than most other mmorpg's i've played.

Let's see....

First, The Exploits:

  • Jedi have used an exploit to mess up BH droids by logging off and then back on.

  • Jedi have used exploits to over power their sabers by stack crystals and pearls... not once but twice now.

  • Jedi have used an exploit using the /duel command in order to see if a BH has thier mission.

  • Jedi have used the exploit of attacking while cloaked.

  • Jedi have used an exploit that allowed them to take advantage of a broken TEF system allowing them to run inside house while in combat with the BH.

  • Jedi have used the exploit of using bugged battlefields to avoid combat with BH.

  • Jedi have used the exploit of /offerRide and /acceptRide from 32m away in order to escape combat.

  • Jedi have used an exploit of using 2 attacks simultaneously in order to hit twice in a single action.

  • Jedi have exploited the Respec in order to train a bunch of low level boxes so that they could just respec 12 hours later to the high level boxes in order to circumvent the higher XP requirements.

  • Jedi have used the LOS exploit on the Rryyat Trails in order to avoid combat from BH.

  • Jedi have used an exploit allowing them to DB themselves in order to not lose XP from a BH.

  • I know there are more... but you get the point. There is plenty of reason for people to complain and "whine" about Jedi. A lot of the exploits affected more than just BH. Jedi are always finding an exploit and some way to get around the few drawbacks that Jedi have.

    Second, Inconvenience of Jedi:

  • Many people feel that Jedi are too great in number.

  • Many people feel that the Jedi profession has ruined the GCW because of their numbers.

  • Many people feel that because of their numbers, Jedi are too powerful.

  • Many people feel that Jedi are an alpha class and do not have a place in a game with 32 other professions unless their power is greatly reduced in order to maintain a balance for ALL professions.

  • In general, a LOT of people feel that Jedi have ruined this game. There really is just too many of them. A lot of people don't think it's fair that just because they do not want to be a Jedi, they seem to be punished for it. Many Jedi like to try to point the finger and say these people are just jealous of their power when in actuality... that power is grossly overpowered and should be toned down due to the vast number of Jedi. If Jedi were few, then I agree to their need for great power. But when a server of 1500 subscribers has 750 or more Jedi on it... there is a problem.

I feel very bad for all those light Jedi I see running around ingame. The Skywalker family is a horrible plaque IMO and they have to look up to them. It took major cyber mods to make darth vader cool. I guess there is Mace Windu, but he was so cool he should've been a dark Jedi, dude cut Jango's head off when he clearly had been disarmed.
