I will also be very dissapointed if there is no Player Bounties eventually integrated into the game. There is no way that this can;t be worked out and implemented within a resonable amount of time.

If PvP bounty hunting is not instituted, I will cancel my subscription. This is the only reason I bought this game... to be a bounty hunter. The website clearly states that PvP bounty hunting is a feature of the game. I will start buying Panasonic if this isn't resolved. Cough cough fraud cough.

Player Bounties IS the main reason I purchased this game. I just recently found out they have been scrapped and I am VERY upset about this. Please find out a way to implement this feature back into the game sony, my subscription depends on it.

In addition, here are some other Player Bounty ideas that might be worth considering:


Proposed Bounty Hunter game mechanics
-------------------------------------

Definitions:
"Mark" - Target of the bounty hunter
"Player Mark" - Human player who is the target of the bounty hunter
"NPC Mark" - Non-player character who is the target of the bounty hunter

Guidelines:


- Player Bounties are faction-based only, and marks can only be overt players.

This part is key. It limits bounty hunting to players that are interested in overt PvP in the first place.


- Humans can not instigate bounties, only the server can, and advertises these contracts through bounty hunter terminals.

This is also very important. This prevents humans placing bounties on other players for the purpose of griefing. It also gives the Dev's control over how often human bounties are placed.


- Bounties have a % chance of being placed when an overt player has hit a magic number of negative faction points.
This chance increases by a percentage every -500 faction points after that.
This increases a faction's chance of placing a bounty on human players who have spanked them.


- Bounty hunters can only accept Player mark bounties if they are either unafilliated with a faction, or if they are overtly or covertly affiliated with a faction that is at war with the player mark.

This prevents Bounty Hunters from accepting a Player Mark who is affiliated with their own faction. This would probably also encourage Bounty hunters to remain neutral, so they could accept any bounty they choose.


- When a bounty is placed, the mark is notified.
They get a message, perhaps an NPC stops them and gives a quick synopsis of whose placed the bounty on them, and why:
i.e. "I hear the hutts are after you! They're upset about the spice you failed to deliver"
They aren't told who the bounty hunter is, however.


- If an unafilliated bounty hunter accepts a job against a player mark, they are immediately given a temporary covert PvP status with the faction that hired them (the enemy of the mark's faction).
This temporary covert status lasts until the bounty hunter attacks their mark. Unlike regular coverts, Bounty hunters can attack their mark when covert, but as soon as they do this they immediately become overt themselves.

This overt status allows the Player mark's allies to fire at the bounty hunter as he attacks and retreats. It lasts for a while, and then the temporary faction standing is erased if the bounty hunter escapes or dies.

This means that Bounty Hunters who want player marks must put themselves at risk of PvP retribution. Bounty hunters who do not wish to play PvP can do so against NPC marks with no chance of PvP.


- If the bounty hunter is killed by anyone after he has accepted a bounty mission, and before he has killed the mark, the contract is cancelled.
This is considered a failure. The bounty hunter will recieve a negative modifier to their standing with the faction that instigated the bounty.

If he had a temporary covert /overt faction status it is immediately removed.

The bounty hunter's life is full of high stakes. Even if they are killed by a herd of dewbacks on the way to find a player mark, they have failed.
Perhaps a bounty is even placed on their own heads, as others have suggested... PvP bounties would be "Bonded"


- If the bounty hunter is killed before he kills the Player Mark, the mark is notified.
An NPC will stop them and tell them:
i.e. "I hear a bounty hunter was after you, but failed. The contract has been cancelled. You're a lucky guy!"

The Player Mark's percent chance of having a bounty placed on them by the opposite faction is reset to zero.

this let's the Player mark know how close they were to dying.

Make this happen Devs, BHs need to be an important part of the SWG universe. Kill missions from a terminal suck big time..

its real simple for me.. I bought the game to be a bounty hunter.. I want to be a bounty hunter to hunt players. If the game can't deliver in a few months then i'm out.
